Well, yeah, but effective reproduction doesn't necessarily translate to multi-.

It's worse. Their software's throwing a shit over non-alphanumeric (but still ASCII) characters in passwords. That's the stupidest thing all month (with special exceptions granted for anything to do with politics) as Google OUGHT TO GET THIS RIGHT. No excuses.

Top rack of dishwasher. No detergent. Turn off "heat dry". Let dry overnight in fresh air.
Is that going to work better than "sitting in a kitchen sink initially filled with hottish water overnight and then left to air-dry on a towel for almost a day"?
The keys that don't work press and release, it's just that Windows doesn't notice.

Seriously, what's the alternative? Shrinking the window? And then re-enlarging it if you hit back?

Yes, because you'll have constant hot water flowing, plus blast pressure.

Hm, well, I left it at work so I can try it tomorrow.
There's a lot of grayish stuff, like a film, on the bottom of the circuit board. I hope that's not the mythical lubricant having washed out, because I'm not going to open all the switches and relubricate them or whatever.

Status: Finally re-fixed my bug fix which didn't fix the bug entirely, 7:50 PM. Bleh.
Working after hours to cover your own mistakes is a bitch and a half. That said, thank God for our QA guy who found a repro of the bug on a server that doesn't contain PHI (personal health information) that I can actually attach locally and repro the damned thing. If he'd have found that repro on Thursday my fix would have been right the first time.
Now I can play vidya games at least until someone else logs on to merge the PR.

Apparently the growth of quality (did you mean quantity) and volume (redundant or... what?) is defeating... bandwidth?
Then you have your run-of-the-mill tinfoil hat...

RSI issues
There's a whole subreddit about RSI: /r/emacs
Among other things, they discuss the best keyboard mappings for their foot pedals (example)

I wouldn't discard the mouse. It's still more precise and better for combination of mose + typing. I just need a way to work on computer without holding my arm in the same position for 10+ hours a day.
I have to say though, a few hours in, and I'm already pretty comfortable stabbing things at screen. Much more than I was comfortable with mouse after that same time.

Status: was hoping to hand over to the testers by the end of yesterday, but due to raisins outside my control the deployment to the test environment, which is my responsibility, is not yet done. It's gone six, but I don't feel I can justify leaving when everyone else is still here (most of them come in later than me and this is still their normal working time) and this thing is supposedly going to be done before 'the end of the day'. I actually needed to do something after work today that it's probably too late to do already, besides that I've only just got back to working normal hours after staying late every day for three weeks.
I don't even have any actual work that I can do at the moment. I'm supposedly doing research and learning and so on but I have given up on anything more today (beyond having a couple of work-related tabs open that I can flick to if anyone's looking) and am just d*cking around on here and drawing dinosaurs.

At least it's a Smart Error and not some dumb one-liner that only has Microsoft's name on a white screen...

@LB_ If this works only on Windows Phone, there is a potential for about 20 users worldwide ;)

@TimeBandit Yep, the 404 is gone and it now seems to be Windows Phone only, and also only for Insiders for the time being.

I wonder which retailers are going to be onboard with this? No snark, genuinely curious - do those NFC readers support multiple protocols or do you need an extra one for each vendor's method?

@Rhywden I don't know, but considering we now have Microsoft, Google, and Apple all bringing out mobile phone payment solutions, it's going to start turning gears at least a little bit.

Status: Been spending literally all morning (except for my cat's vet appointment for an hour) babysitting a pull request, trying to get a single person to approve it so we can push this urgently-needed hotfix I finished last night at 8:00 PM.
Because if the code is needed urgently, the developers doing code reviews become roughly 57,000 times more nitpicky about shit that doesn't even matter anyway because it's a HOTFIX and it'll only even be on a live server for like maybe a month.
In retrospect, why the fuck did I even work late? Hurry up and wait!
Once the thing's merged, I'm shutting down my work laptop and playing MechWarrior. Even if it's only 2:00 PM. Fuck 'em. I've used up all my patience for today on fucking 6 lines of code.

Indeed. At least on the NFC side. It's the same thing as MasterCard PayPass and whatever the Visa version is.
Probably they standardized because the card companies created the protocol before they could get to it.....

Probably they standardized because the card companies created the protocol before they could get to it.....INB4 someone allows the apps to run on generic phones with NFC. Seriously, you've made it sound like it's pretty easy to implement in general, but for raisins vendors decide to keep you out of it.
