i am going to make a sockbot plugin that automatically dismisses upvote notifications..... because DAMN!
It's just the number - it does roll the actual notifications into one.

But you still get told about every single upvote, which is totally unnecessary

I agree, but there's nothing to actually dismiss.

Status: just written a C++ template that takes constant-sized array as argument. In the process, I learned about the

syntax. Pinging @Kian because I think he might be interested in this bit of trivia. As of me, I'll be sick for at least two weeks.You can use a traits object to extract the size, too, which might be bit less ugly: http://coliru.stacked-crooked.com/a/e2a017a9f6a27853
Best to just usestd::array
if you can though (and if it's really necessary,std::vector
is a good default for most things you'd use arrays for).

I'm not. It makes https://what.thedailywtf.com/notifications flaky as all get out. I have no idea how many notifications I actually have. The bell icon currently says 4, but the notification page just keeps going and going and going...

I bought some cold medicine this morning at self-checkout. I had to wait for the attendant to verify that I was old enough to buy it. She barely glanced at me, and certainly didn't ask for ID.

The world's debt was paid. The types and symbolism of the old covenant had been adequately fulfilled. The mighty work, undertaken by him who would realize the expectations of the oldest prophets and the unconscious prophecies of heathendom, was done. Every iota and tittle of the Law had been magnified. The reality of which the temple and the sabbath were shadows, the priesthood and the offerings innumerable were figures, had all been realized. /təˈtɛl əs tɪ/ or something reasonably close to that.
Commonly translated "It is finished," it was used in a business context with a connotation of "paid in full." It occurs in Christian scripture as one of the "seven last words of Christ," signifying that the debt of sin has been paid through the death of Jesus.
@sloosecannon said in The Official Status Thread:

I'm definitely not an expert on Greek pronunciation, but I'm not sure I trust Google's pronunciation any more than I trust some of their translations. I suppose it's possible that the unstressed vowels keep some of the /ɛ/ sound rather than degenerating all the way to /ə/ but pronouncing αι as /ɛ/ goes against everything I (think I) know about Greek pronunciation. According to my understanding, it would originally have been an /aɪ/ diphthong, which gradually shifted to simply /ɪ/ or perhaps /i/.

@Luhmann It coalesces notifications about likes on the same thing. Well, unless you've told it to email you for every little thing, But Why Would You Do That?

@dkf
No it seems to ... slowmo notifications. It said 8 I opened it up and only saw one upvote from Ben_Rubber. I mock about ... get a new notification and ... bam ... it's filled up with notifications from several hours ago that should have been there when I first opened up the menu ... there is something strange with the notification thingy

Well, the point wasn't just to check the size of array - I also wanted to enforce that two arrays have the same size. This makes it a little trickier.

I still need to figure out error handling and I still need to work out how to unit test the DAO (preferably without adding extra methods that will only ever be used to inject mocks) and I'm ashamed of how long it took me to get it up and running, but dammit, I built a webservice.
