I want to get out entirely.
Then do exactly that. Maybe go travelling for a while (there's an amazing world out there even within your timezone), learn new skills, do something different. Return later to what you know now, or don't if you find that the alternative is working better for you as a person. The point is to get out of the rut as it is obviously pissing you off a lot; the fix for such a situation is to change.

software that's impossible for normal people to fucking us
People use apps just fine. They no longer use software.
people like me are just forced to re-live this shit all over again
You are not people. You are in IT.Any passion I once had, any belief I once had that computers might make the world better is just completely gone forever
They will be your master and make the world a better place for themselves.

Made 20 days worth of breakfast burritos. Figured I'd be healthy (since I was using turkey sausage anyway) and use whole wheat tortillas.
Big fucking mistake. I think ONE of them folded properly without breaking, and I had to WAY understuff them - they were supposed to be 4.5oz of filling - they ended up below 3oz.
I guess you could make tacos with them. But I'll be damned if I have any idea why they make burrito-sized ones.
-
You know, thinking about it, I think this is karma from the first student loan I paid off.
I got within 10 bucks of 0-balance and instead of my next quarterly bill (this was the university loaning me money directly, so they only billed quarterly because raisins) they sent me the closeout paperwork.

You could pick a name that mere mortals could pronounce easily. You'll note I avoided having to say it ever again.
-
mere mortals could pronounce easily
Can you blame me for using it as a litmus test for interest level?
It's not hard. The current best pronunciation is "ts-awk-pay-truh", which requires a modicum more brain power to figure out than common names or otherwise obviously said words. So, if you attempt it even once, you've spent a bit of time thinking about it.After people try it the first time, it's typically shortened to "ts-awk".
Now, that arsehole that came up with schnehnagphaschtalli, he should be shot in the back of the head.

The design is a total The hinge pins and over-travel pegs are nice thick steel but the bottom hinge pin comes up into a plastic bush assembly and the plastic bush...just presses into the sodding foam insulation! There is nothing stopping it being forced into the door apart from compacted foam. Time and gravity have done the inevitable.
It is either total incompetence or it was designed to fail. Luckily we have a load of titanium at work free for the taking. Coming up tonight: the 6 million dollar fridge hinge replacement.

who the fuck pays $6 a day for lunch? I usually get a footlong roll for about £2:90 with a drink and a packet of crisps. If I'm feeling lazy I can get 300 ml soup for about £2. If I actually put effort in I could have a week's worth of decent sandwiches at two a day for £15. I can get 400ml tins of soup for about £1 each.
Better question who pays 17 dollars a day for lunch?
Am I just cheap?
I'm actually annoyed with this for some reason...

$6 is OK for a decent cooked lunch.

Trying to get various cloud storage providers syncing to my NAS
On Windows:
: What? you want me to sync to a network drive?.... can do!
: I can't sync to a network drive! that's like bad! (accalia fiddles with the config files and starts the service back up) Boy i'm glad i'm syncing to a local drive just like i was originally configured to!
: I can't sync there! that's a network drive! (accalia fiddles with the config and restarts the service) OMG! I CAN'T FIND YOUR ONEDRIVE FOLDER! (accalia tries junction points) OMG! THAT'S NOT A FOLDER! I CAN'T SYNC THERE! (accalia says fine... sync locally then and i'll sort you out later) *crashes* ()On Linux:
: LOL, what's linux?*
: The destination folder is on a disc with more than 20TB of space! i can't write to that! it's too big! ()
: a-derp.... what's Linux?** Yes, i know third party clients exist on linux. that's because the first parties never released a client for linux,**
** Google promised there would be a client for drive on linux for AGES but it never was released.

The current best pronunciation is "ts-awk-pay-truh"
I'd do "sawk-pay-truh" because there ain't no fuckin' vowels in "ts" and therefore the t is silent.
-
I can't sync there! that's a network drive! (accalia fiddles with the config and restarts the service) OMG! I CAN'T FIND YOUR ONEDRIVE FOLDER! (accalia tries junction points) OMG! THAT'S NOT A FOLDER! I CAN'T SYNC THERE! (accalia says fine... sync locally then and i'll sort you out later) crashes ()
This behavior is common with enterprisey file synchronization apps as well. Network drive syncing is inevitably a hugely expensive addon.

it's common with every single app i'm aware of. Hell i was SHOCKED that Google Drive was a-okay with it, given the last time i tried to set up google drive like that (about two years ago) i had to do the same sort of fiddling that i had to do with dropbox.
and onedrive crashing is nothing new. i disabled it on Tsukiyomi because approximately 100% of the time it would crash on exit, throwing up a message box which blocked shutdown from proceeding.

Knowing hardly anything about video/audio editing, could you cut the movie in half, and then process each half, and then put them back together? Seems like the time saved would outweigh the extra setup. Then if you were crazy you could do a 4-way split, or something.
Have you tried writing a letter to the Audacity people telling them how they should fix their software to be multicore?

who the fuck pays $6 a day for lunch?
Gotta be hipsters, or people who just don't care what they spend. On days when I make lunch I might do something like a turkey-and-cheese sandwich, which probably costs 50 or 60 cents?
Now eating out could be anywhere from $6 to $12 depending on where I want to go--the street I work on has dozens of restaurants--so if I were crazy I could probably drop $25 or more on something like a Brazilian steakhouse, but who'd do that?

That's not a static method. That explains the missing semicolon! Right? RIGHT?

$6 in the US will probably get you a hamburger and glass of water, unless you're doing McDonalds or Burger King or the like.

hackable computerdust magnet, ok!?Given the use you got out of the first one, I think FTFY.
-
So you're claiming that those two chains don't really do hamburgers?
No, I'm claiming the 1/6lb burger you'd get won't compare with a 1/4 or 1/3lb one you'd get at a non-fast-food burger joint. (If you ordered a 1/4lb burger at Burger King it's going to cost closer to what a burger joint would, too, obviously.)

Well, it's interest too. It shouldn't be capitalizing.

It does if you put everything in the folder instead of the root directory!

I was wondering why I and so many others noticed that SDL apps don't redraw while resizing.
Actually, by playing around I think I've found a relatively simple way to highlight the entire screen, but it will require different code for windows on extra monitors so I can only guarantee something that would work on single-monitor systems.
TL;DR the way they handle the mouse manually has made it extremely complex to fix this bug without breaking Windows' built-in ability to snap windows.
-
Thefuck kind of commie pinko loan doesn't have capitalizing interest?
I thought that student loans only capitalized interests like annually or something.
