Of course these days the side of the road is probably booby-trapped too.

"The resources they have" are slim and hard to come by.
Of course they are. Office space in Mountain View, San Francisco, Paris and London isn't cheap to come by!

You think (say) Chinese translated into Spanish, probably via Engrish, would be not worse?
-
he corporate IT staff is looking for a way to auto force-deploy
One of the perks of a small company is "none of that bullshit".
-
I think if Chinese translated to Engrish is bad enough, I'd look at the original Chinese, possibly with the help of a native speaker.

You are presumably responsible and competent
YMBNH. If there's one thing I've learned from TDWTF, it's not to presume competence. (From anyone; not directed specifically at @Eldelshell.)
I know you are smart enough
Again, TDWTF has taught me otherwise. I used to think that about Jeff, too, but then I encountered Discourse.
-
You never learn people
Learning people is hard. Even when you've spent years learning one person, they surprise you by doing something unexpected, and you find out you didn't know them as well as you thought you did.
-
I'm probably missing something here, but revenue ≠ they spent it all, right?
-
Sublime seems to be dead, though - hasn't had any updates for a year now.
-
nothing interesting or recent
False. On both counts, surprisingly.@Luhmann said:

So true.You're doomed
Yup.

Status: You know that feeling you get when you are becoming sick? I have that tonight. Tomorrow is going to suck.
I was right about that one. It came on quick. Big fever overnight. Slept with three big covers on myself and still felt cold.
The nanny is here. I am going back to sleep.

Wow, you're right.
I was dimly aware there were few updates coming, but I had no idea the situation was this... strange. The owner just disappeared from public life. He left a business guy to sell new licenses and maintain the site, but is otherwise out of communication. He's not completely gone since people notice recent activity on his accounts. He's just ignoring everyone and everything to do with sublime.
Is he sick? Tired of coding? Busy with other projects?
No one knows.
Interesting.

The nanny is here. I am going back to sleep.
Your nanny is one of those afternoon sleep absolutists, isn't she? Hopefully, she'll unlock the toy chest by the time you wake up.
-
I was just scanning new posts and I thought @Rhywden was talking about the band. I should get coffee.
-
Is he sick? Tired of coding? Busy with other projects?
Probably blew all his money on hookers and was then introduced to the concept of tax. He now spends his life on the run, drifting from town to town logging in from proxies setup two towns back to keep the IRS off his tail.

Status: sick or something. Miserable. Not at work.
-
Because it's the first result of MDN on Google.

And look, they're using a real forum, not a POS like Discourse.
Yeah the experience of clicking through those stupid pages was so much better.

I thought if the default gateway were missing it was calculated (read: guessed) from the IP address and subnet mask. I guess I'm wrong?

I thought if the default gateway were missing it was calculated (read: guessed) from the IP address and subnet mask. I guess I'm wrong?
Usually, yes.
This was actually caused by the second NIC on the machine getting its default gateway first. Apparently Windows doesn't like having 2 default gateways and removed the one for this NIC. Which happened to be the IP that stuff was forwarded to.
-
I don't usually rant at Mozilla because I believe they're doing a great job with the resources they have,
You may be the only person on Earth who believes that.
-
Thinking about it, having two default gateways on two NICs on the same subnet is a funky concept anyways - no wonder it doesn't work

Status: TIL that Australia and Germany sells sand to Saudi Arabia. Kudos!

Fuck you assholes, this is the status thread.
Look, RacePropeciaUK is back like a week and already the bullshit's seeping in again.

Well that wasn't in the goddamned screenshot! Foo.

In other news: Blakey continues to satisfy himself in front of the bathroom mirror while coming up with new permutations of 'raceprouk'.

Status: Targeted Dridex attack against us. Quite impressive, from (forged headers, IPs are all botnet) a disty we deal with and the email body even contained our company address.
As it was a convincing fake order it was opened by sales but between our brand new IDS and the virus scanner it was thoroughly dealt with without having to lift a finger.

The discoball appeared at the bottom a couple of minutes ago and then vanished without anything noticably changing. Guess it was that then.
-
I got an actual notification from @boomzilla... not sure is going on with this but hey, Discourse.
-
If it's the same one I got, you weren't in the chain. So no idea what was going on there.
-
That can't be true. @boomzilla doesn't do his job.
-
I know, right?

I actually had a status in there =(
Moving on. Lets play guess the parser

Moving on. Lets play guess the parser
My first thought is regex, but they'd have to know to escape those special characters, so I'll actually go with whitelist.Oh, wait, status thread:

I'm not sure if that was directed at me, the people in the video, or both, but did that. Although she much prefers having her belly rubbed; did that, too.

Status: I'm perfectly willing to engage anybody on this forum in a debate. Until they call me a racist. Especially until they call me a racist due to a disagreement in how named folders work in Windows.

Will put it in Lounge.

You're, like, one of the few oft-belligerent people on this forum who doesn't demonstrate blatant racism at every opportunity.

Status: I washed my sheets yesterday, so this morning of course my cat barfs up a huge hairball on them.
Fortunately I was working from home so I got them back in the wash before it got too soaked in.

Meanwhile I'm on Day 100 of Fitbit wearing. It serves a purpose. I only interact with it to adjust the band (move it up the arm for certain activities) or to see if the damn thing needs to be charged. Everything else it does is passive.
I like the fitbit. But mine goes in my pocket, not on my wrist (haven't worn a watch/etc for 30 years at least). Of course, I have the One... (it also only needs charging every 10-15 days)
Status: still 500 posts behind...

You would too if you had no other way to get water out of your ears!
