According to wikipedia the LD50 for humans is 150ish mg per Kg (but that is probably oral dosages not IV) so it depends on how diluted and how big a shot.

Status: Blood level in my caffeine system has risen to an unacceptable level. Must go dilute it.

just wait till next week when we discuss b-trees.
b-trees are MUCH more fun than binary trees. And then you get into b+-trees, tries, and all sorts of weird crap.
-
Of course, that's because I delayed by 2 days and let them figure out what they were doing with my frustrated co-workers.
Always a good plan--as long as you don't let anyone know that's what you're doing.
-
Hmm, I wonder if you could literally inject pure caffeine diluted with some saline into your blood stream (without dying, I mean).
I'm sure you could. The critical question is how much?
-
Status: Blood level in my caffeine system has risen to an unacceptable level. Must go dilute it.
Blood dilution in progress — tea, Earl Grey, hot — wherein lies the problem; it's only now cooling to a drinkable temperature.

Status: Pretty much checked out for the day, but had to look into something for a client that thinks something isn't updating right, so it appears "stuck", when really it was changed (in a desktop app) and they checked (on a website) before a service that synchronizes updates to the website synchronized, so by the time I looked into it, it was no longer "stuck".

Status: Just finished leading a 200 post drive to 23k in that topic. We got 200 posts in an hour, and 100 posts in the last 20 minutes. The Euros won't know what hit 'em.

Are you about to lose control? Because if you are I don't want to know if you think you like it.

Also, enjoying the new slang "hoisted" (meaning tricked, or fooled) which I'm seeing everywhere now.

Are you hoisted by your own petard?
-
@blakeyrat, hoisted? Nah.
-
I'm pretty sure that he's been petarded.
-
I thought that might be the origin, but it doesn't match the usage I've been seeing.

Status: Creating a non-phonetic alphabet with a colleague for use when spelling things confusingly over the phone. Don't care if it's been done before and I don't want to spoil the fun by looking.

Which article are you looking at? I see a few on Slashdot. I had no idea it was such a big deal.
-
$10 per employee breakdown.
$1-2 per cup for pay
$1-2 per cup for benefits
$1 per cup for training
$5-7 per cup for liability, workman's comp and lawsuits, portion of taxes the business pays, and so on.
-
I read H1B viruses.

I like to check those two boxes as well.

Helped in those last 200 postsSomeone in Europe is bound to do something right for once, and we acknowledge that, in our margin of error when we say 0% +/- 2 European dudes.

Well... I'm one of those damned Europeans but I don't think I qualify in the 'helped' category yet

Probably this:

This is the one I was looking at when I posted that, but they're basically every other day:
It's hilarious, some guy goes, "wow, managing services, boot times, really suck ass on Linux, I should improve them". He comes up with a better system, but all the (Slashdot) users are like "THIS IS NOT LINUX PHILOSOPHY! OMG YOU RUIN LINUX!!! IT IS WINDOWS LITE OMGOMG SKY FALLING!!!!!!"
Meanwhile, the sane, pragmatic (apparently) people who run the distros have all already adopted systemd. Which is great because it just pisses the Slashdot horde off more, since there's no place they can get away from it.
That specific article is those idiots ranting because systemd added a virtual terminal that supports unicode. Yes, really.
-

That's why I was surprised that it was a big deal. Ubuntu has had it forever. As far as I know, Slackware is the only distro that hasn't switched.
-

It's not, to anybody sane. It's actually a lot of long-needed improvements. But sane people don't post on Slashdot anymore.
(I will say, I disagree with its use of binary logs. I'm all for moving forward, but I don't see what benefit is derived from binary log files over text files, and text files are easier to deal with.)

The intro to the 2012 Mysterious Cities of Gold remake, which I had no idea existed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGbCXrEPgLU (yes, it has the same epic theme song.) And the new Golden Condor looks fucking amazing.
Couldn't find the music video I was actually looking for though...

Apparently they supposedly were checking for word boundaries. So at least it looks like they may try and deal with it.

Status: just discovered there's a restaurant called "Obama" near me.
I feel like I could make some kind of joke about this here, but I don't really know enough about USA politics to pull it off.
