Ouch, that's not a good birthday present. Is there at least an amusing story associated with the condition that is prompting this line of thought?
Nope, it was sore after softball last night, but I didn't do anything to it. Now it's hard to put weight on.
-
Status Addendum: Just installed git, trying to download Wireshark source...according to the official Wireshark site the source is available at https://code.wireshark.org/review/wireshark, however that URL simply returns the text "Not Found".
And this is why I hate OSS.

Status: More broken stuff!!! I'm trying to enter into a $5K giveaway thing one of my student loan providers is doing, but the "Submit" button on their official signup form does not work! I've tried two different browsers even.
-
Status: Submitted. I had to open up the browser developer tools and enable the button. I really hope that means no one else was able to submit and I automatically win.

Because the emoji is as retarded as Discourse?

Is that link safe to click?

It's about the transitive butt property.
-
That's nothing.
Last night I was trying to add a friend in Xbox Live on my Xbox One, and the "Find Username" button doesn't work. At all. In the latest OS patch. It don't do jack.
That's some good regression testing.

Seriously, I'm some kind of broken-software magnet today. I should just call it a day, get some Blue Moon, and go home to Colonization. But given today's luck the ECU firmware on my motorcycle is probably blue-screened and I'll be stranded at the office.
The Windows SDK 7.1 doesn't install, and StackOverflow directs me to download something from http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall which will clean up some kind of VC++ redistributable that is supposedly preventing the install. But that page is blank.
Does anybody anywhere in the world have working software? I hate to say it but Discourse has been the most reliable software I've had to use today.

As long as it's me crashing and burning Indian villages.

I don't get why Colonization made the Spanish the war-like Civ, when you look at territories governed by the Spanish now and they have MUCH larger pre-colonization populations than, say, the territories governed by the English. I mean, Mayan is spoken by 6 million people (ish), Cherokee? 20,000 (ish).
-
The game makes no claim to historical accuracy. I'm also playing as Michiel de Ruyter starting in 1492, and George Washington is a member of the Dutch Continental Congress...
-
They should totally port-in the Giant War Robot (or whatever it's called) from Civ V.

The Spanish showed up and enslaved the natives in order to enrich themselves. We just kicked the natives out and took their land and used that to enrich ourselves. We're on the installment plan to pay them back, one comped buffet at a time.

TRWTF in 1 (and maybe 2?) was killing everyone in a stack in a single battle.
Aha! And thus the urge to build all those fortresses.
-
I wish they'd work some of the Colonization mechanics into the other Civ games. I really like how you have so many resource types to manage, and having to deal with colonist specialization, yet any colonist can technically do anything.
I've always been more into the infrastructure and research side of things on empire-building games, and Colonization's city infrastructure is far deeper than anything else I've played, so maybe it's just me.

Could still be true, though.

Paging @Steve_The_Cynic, the GAU-8 is back in action!!

Looks like debugging code that escaped. I don't suppose there's a breakpoint on the s = s line?
-
Nope, it's in many, many places.
-
Nah, Colonization requires too much micro-management.
-
OMG now the Wireshark developer stuff is splooging all over my C drive...a million Wireshark-lib-xxxxxxx folders is exactly what I wanted on my drive root!

I guess extensive usage makes it the only thing you can imagine.

Because it started out as ?!, and then the inventor move the symbols around without updating the documentation.

Also: my co-worker and I were investigating a bug, and when trying to reproduce it, found other bugs. It was a Discourse moment.

The closest I've seen in recent games was in the Tropico series. They're quite a bit different in other ways. (Good soundtrack though, especially when you ignore that the one in the series that was pirate themed.)
