Some non-fox entity.

Laboratory Information Management System.
Also known as “thing that says how much stabilised ClF4 we've got and which freezer the plague samples are stored in”. (In our case, that's a “none” and “we've not got any”. Which is good to know…)
-
Don't open the package in Monday's Post then.... that way you'll still have plausible deniability. ;)
-
It should probably have a grey border.
Reminds me of a character in an old WC3 map my friends and I would play.
The Chicken. All the other characters were good at combat. The Chicken's skills: Infinite range 10 damage ministun, really short cooldown. Owner of target unit has their camera centered on the center of the map. When you use a skill, recover n hp and mana (This button has no cooldown, and can be pressed!). Summon a giant swarm of chickens.

Whos-a-whats-it? Didn't go there last year. Not in Seattle yet this year.

I'd be rather worried at any other answer.
stabilised ClF4
I'm pretty sure the first word is not applicable to the second thing.

i'm sure that compared to azidoazide azide, Tetrafluorochlorate is positively a paragon of stability.

Chrome introduced a new regression lately. When you open a set of bookmarks all at once (in my case it happens 100% of the time when opening 5 bookmarks), half of them will give you that dumb "an error occurred" page. When you refresh, the pages are fine.

hmm... that's odd. what version of chrome?
i'm on Version 44.0.2403.89 m at the moment and i just told it to open my entire book marks folder in a new window.
after a popup warning that i was about to open 52 tabs and a lot of waiting for them to load all the tabs loaded fine (although linkrot had 404'd several)

I didn't recall it specifically, but the name alone is enough to make me cringe, and when the first Google result is "Things I Won't Work With", I know it's something good (for very hazardous definitions of "good"). I think I had read that particular "Things I Won't Work With" entry before, though.
Edit: Changed the formatting, because "Things I Won't Work With" isn't actually the title of the blog, just a (seldom used, sadly) tag in the author's pharma research blog.

Seen it before, but have a like anyway.

Status: It is July 20th and somehow I end up with a wicked cold in the middle of summer.
Correction: It was not a cold. It was some horrible illness that knocked me on my ass for over 3 days with a fever, cough, horribly sore throat and sinus pressure which has now carried over to an ear infection.
But now I am back to the land of the living. What flame wars did I miss out on? Any good religion or politics thread that I can go stir things up in?

This is what it looks like with audio waveforms enabled. @blakeyrat how do I edit a video

Only 5 days until the event is triggered...

Any good religion or politics thread that I can go stir things up in?
Nothing I noticed.
-
Boo.
-
so you've heard of that one
Somoene should try mixing that shit with some good old FOOF.

How? As volatile as it is, getting it to the FOOF would be difficult to achieve. And if you brought the FOOF to the AA, what are the odds that the AA would last long enough for the FOOF to make contact?

I tried:

I think my mistake was not making it gender-specific.
-
How?
Got me, but while reading Pipeline, I ran across this little gem that made me go
(There're postfix numbers that don't show up, for some reason, in the preview on Google.
-
what are the odds that the AA would last long enough for the FOOF to make contact?
As I understand it, just getting AA to last long enough to finish making it is quite a trick.

I don't even know what program that is.
Step 1: get Vegas/Sony Movie Studio Platinum
We'll move on to step 2 when you've completed step 1.

Status: Guyz, Ben L is editing videos in Blender of all things. I'm kind of worried about him.
-
If you search for the top free video editing programs, it is usually in the results... Which says more about the rest of it than it does about Blender.
-
sounds about right for a guy who speaks lojban of all languages
-
I'm not sure why this would worry you (more than anything else he does; if I cared about Ben, it would almost certainly manifest in the form of worry). It does have a built-in video editing tool. Sure, it's not the best one available, but it's free, and it's one of the three that Toms's Hardware desribes as "some of which kicks serious butt."
-
There are apparently some really nice ones, several on linux. My friend started uploading a bunch of song covers on Youtube, and went through several trying to find the best one, but I can't remember what he decided on.
-
There was one that I ran across that looked promising. I thought I had either downloaded (but not yet installed) it, bookmarked the page, or left the page open in a tab, but I can't find any of those, and now I don't remember the name. @$^(&@#%!
-
You know what's also free and although cumbersome to use doesn't suck complete dick? Internet DJ Console.
Nothing else does what it does for free.
If it does do it for free, it sucks complete dick.
-
I was able to synchronize the audio and video in about two minutes of fiddling around, whereas my previous editor of choice was unable to display waveform information for a 20 second piece of a 30 minute flac + 29 minute mp4 file in any reasonable amount of time.
It looks like the export settings have "MP4" and "H.264" as separate, exclusive options, but at least I can select a mkv container and put the stuff that every web browser expects to be in an MP4 file inside it and then use ffmpeg on the command line to repack it without reencoding it.
Status: exporting a low quality version of the video so hopefully I can upload it in a reasonable amount of time and talk over it with a friend like Let's Drown Out.

Status: uploading a 30 minute video
Oh internet, where have you been all my life?

Lemme guess, 360i?

Blender. I was using ShotCut before.
-
Oh internet, where have you been all my life?
It's always been there, taunting you. You just weren't seeing it.
-
ShotCut
Ah, that's the one I was trying to remember earlier. I'll strike it off my list, I guess.

Status: had a dream that a spambot named
xxben_lubar
managed to post something containing JavaScript that somehow hid most of the browser chrome and replaced it with fake chrome and an autoplaying music loop. It also managed to pull off signature guy on Discourse as clicking the flag button in the dream just played an error sound. No idea what the dream was supposed to mean, but I may as well post it on the status thread.

I've never heard of that before but it sounds amazing. Might have to cook that next Friday for supper, don't want to subject my colleagues to the effects of eating 8 cloves of garlic.
Slices of raw garlic on pieces of mature cheddar is one of my favourites. Will definitely cure internal parasites too
-

It really is. Crap loads of garlic and paprika, how can you go wrong? The flavor profile is not overly garlicky either, due to the way it is prepared.
I use the base of it as the foundation for lots of chicken soups now.
