Status: Went to write some code not for work. Remembered why I love this shit.
-
Is it the secret thing you wanted to show me earlier this week~?
-
Yup. Almost done, I hope.

Good luck!
Thanks. Bigger company than I've worked for in years, but this division is apparently a small company that was bought up a year or so ago, so it might have the advantages of a smaller company with the benefits of a multinational

Would that be an X-ray laser (with the red dot just for targeting)? Those things are awesome! (Keep them away from me though…)
Any wavelength, but yes -- the visible dot would be for targeting for the most part (the lasers that are being developed IRL for weapons use are IR AIUI...)

Status: Dammit:
Fuck you, Outlook! I don't know if it's complaining about not being able to resolve the server name or my account name. For some stupid reason, the mail server has an internal 10.1.x.x IP and an external one, but it won't respond to telnet port 25 on the internal IP, so I put the name+external IP in /etc/hosts[1] and it still won't frigging resolve.

I've got a proper recipe somewhere. I need to try it out some time.
-
You know what would be nice?
#FUCKING BEING ABLE TO INSTALL GOD DAMN ECLIPSE PLUGINS FROM FUCKING GITHUB.
Belgium!
-
What's stopping you now? Does GitHub write some kind of weird "anti-Eclipse" config file in all its repos?
-
Our web proxy is currently blocking access to github.
-
Status: Git just flagged me for a merge conflict because a GUID changed from uppercase to lowercase.
I'm so glad we're using a source control product with absolutely no knowledge of the file formats it's dealing with. Telling a computer two obviously identical GUIDs are actually identical was such a good use of my time.
-
Let me re-specify as well. Our proxy server has been blocking access to github for the past two months

Why can't you get github whitelisted?
-
Status: 4 days behind.
-
Status: Screw you browser cache!
-
-
Nope, I actually need it disabled in general. I set the
Cache-Control
headers but the damned thing won't listen.

Status: Noticed that when you hold the back button in windows 10 on a phone to go to the task switcher, a mouse cursor appears in the top left of every app.

Only a little bit borken: "He didn't understand Gandalf at all."
wow, missed the tense. Sorry @Jarry my auto correction on read made it look good when it wasn't.

Status: Shitloads of old posts just decided they are unread. I got unread notifications for posts from last year! How the hell... DUCKHORSEEE!
P.S. - And I think that the posts are stuff I genuinely never read, it's just that Discourse decided to bring them to my attention only now.
-
Not reading posts is uncivilised discourse, so Discourse is just giving you a chance to correct that.
-
Well I'm down to 450 unread now!
-
I started on 92 topics with unread posts and now have... 92 topics with unread posts
-
Wait... I reduced my "auto track shit after..." period from 2 minutes to 30 seconds today.
Now, all of these threads are something I tracked already, I think, but some of it might be the stuff I missed because I was away for a month or so, and maybe even dismissed.
Could it be that my fiddling with settings "revived" them? I mean, I'm sure it's possible, this is Discourse, but is it likely?

Status: I've been ordered to work from home on monday. Um... okay :)

Probably. Surprised it didn't cause cooties.

Status: Left Youtube autoplaying. It picked Nickelback.

My sympathies

Status: Going for paella tonight. From a box, cause I'm lazy.
If you don't feel like really cooking, why not have someone else do it? Life is too short for substandard paella.
-
Why was the GUID being changed from uppercase to lowercase? And why was the same line modified by two people at the same time if it just contained a GUID?
-
At least it is an easy collision to resolve.

Status: Found a Solitare window on a disused workspace...
See bottom of window.
Tempted to leave it be for another 15 hours. No, I don't have a reason to think it would break once it goes over 100 hours. But the curiosity is getting to me...
-
Do it!

Status: No idea how people follow some of the discussions on meta.d without the Reply-To stuff.

The way Jeff intended?

Poorly?

Status: I just used my wife's flowery, purple gardening gloves to unload some plywood.
Feeling manly.

I bet you bought them for her, so you could use them later.

The best kind of experiment!

Well, he'd be watching intently of course
