I would imagine so, but not to a point where you get a headache because it's going to rain.
My wife gets migraines from rainy weather. Nasty ones. Nasty as in, she had Botox a month ago to get rid of chronic migraines, and on rainy days the migraine comes back.
You have my sympathy.

-
This happens at least a couple times each month at my office. No one will ever accept responsibility.
Publicly execute one of them in the break room and that shit will come to a stop.

I suspect that the problem is that the microwaves here are 1300 watt. Hardly anyone ever uses a 1300 watt microwave, and they all just put it in for whatever amount of time works in their microwaves at home. Then they use the restroom while they wait.
I think I may need to implement your suggestion.
-
I assume there is no "Popcorn" button?

I think the only ones in existence that powerful are commercial models.
One of my pet peeves is microwavable food containers that say "Do not use microwave ovens less than 1100 watts; food may not cook properly." 1100 watt microwaves are scarce as hen's teeth; at least they were the last time I was shopping for one (4-5 years ago). You can find them easily online, but walk into a retail store, and they don't (or didn't then) exist. Even 1000 watt models were hard to find; most consumer models were 800 or 900 watts. "Microwavable" food is not usefully microwavable if it can't be cooked in any available microwave.
-

Yeah...not quite. Our home microwave is 1.58kw.
-
Is that the actual power output? I think mine consumes something like that, but the magnetron only puts 1000W into the oven.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's what they bought when they did the remodel.

For countertop models, sure. For a wall mounted model? You can easily find the 1000+ watt microwaves.
-

Samsung SMH1713S
I am on mobile, cooking dinner, or I would look it up myself. The label says 1.58kw though.
That might be like a "6.5HP Shop-Vac" for all I know.
-

Bingo.
I needed a new vent hood, might as well get the microwave up and out of the way and get some lights also while I am at it.
Plus, I got it for something like 75% off because a Sears appliance store was closing and it was a display model.

"Cooking power - 1000watts"
You were correct, you pendantic bastard. :-)
-
-
-
Sucker. Mine is 1100 watts.
My last few microwaves have been 1100. All the directions are for 1000W or lower, so I always have to discount how long to cook stuff.

Status: LOL'd because GNU Hurd turned v0.6 this week.
-
Apparently a version for x86-64 is "in progress."
-
"v0.6 doesn't run on a computer."
"this is a known issue and might be fixed by v2.0."
-
"v0.6 doesn't run on a computer."
Does it run on anything other than RMS' fevered imagination?
This is worse vaporware than Duke Nukem Forever.
-
Well, shit.
I don't see the word evo anywhere.
-
This is worse vaporware than Duke Nukem Forever.
...the FSF started developing the Hurd in 1990.
Emphasis added.

-
It's a plastic table.
-
Not accepted. It's not even fake wood.
-
Oh Samsung, why?
My SSD have firmware blah blah 7 blah. On the website was blah blah 8 blah. Download that. Oh, it's just a binary file. Hmm..."Samsung Magician 4.2.1". Maybe that'll flash it? Download, install, run, error. New dialog, "there is a new version, install?" because it's a newer version than what's on the web. Download that, install, run, check firmware, and blah blah 9 blah is available. This was not a surprise. Flash that, the computer says it's going to power down. Turn it back on, and now this:
Googling suggests a fix. The control panel says Windows is still activated. About to restart and see if wht I just gets rid of "test mode".
-
-
...and no more test mode. Man, I love how fast this machine reboots, even with a pseudo-crippled SSD.
-
One wooden table. You only get the SSD box this time, though, because I'm not going to take apart the computer again tonight.
-
Huh. My feet sure look weird in that picture.
No, I wasn't naked.

GNU Hurd
The answer to a question that no one asked, and a solution for a problem that doesn't really exist.
-
-
Don't you have wattage selectors on your microwaves in the U.S.?
My 1100W microwave can also run at 900W or 650W.
-
Well, shit.
Yes, but they don't say the wattage they run at. They are usually a percentage or a generic "Power Level" from 1-5 or something like that.
-
Oh, piss off Discourse. I quoted a reply to @aliceif and you insert something random from @frostcat?
-
Let's hold off a few more days before doing anything -- I have sometimes been known to be wrong.
-

Mine has percentage. Given that it's 1.1kW it's surprisingly confusing: I want to just add on another
0
, but I know that's wrong. Ok, it's fairly close, but still.Also,
100%
is now calledHI
, apparenlty.

Mine has percentage.
I will guarantee you that percentage is dodgy. If you have a 1100w microwave and set it to 50%, I would be willing to wager that it is not even within 15% of 550w cooking power.

No, anything on display is in English (
HI
,MID
,LO
,COOL
), but the actual machine is German and all of the buttons are labelled in German. Go figure.

Oh wait, misread that.
Siemens, I assume?
-
I went to check and it says "Privileg" on it in a fancy font. Since I never heard of it, I'm going to buttume that's just a brand thing, not the actual company. But I sure as hell ain't moving it from where it is to look at the label in the back.
-
Scratch the German bit, I buttumed wrong because it was bought in Germany:
Daewoo? Daewoo makes microwaves now?
It seems not to be the exact model but close enough.
-
Privileg
It's a brand formerly used by a mail order company.
Most of them were just re-branded Electrolux devices, IIRC.
