That is obviously not a graph but a chart! It says so on the picture itself.
Now if you were to use paint to shoddily edit graph onto the picture, then we could talk about it!

I'd flag you for pedantic dickweedery, if I didn't know that myself.

this threat is an empty one and you know it! You could never flag somebody for dickweedery and still look at yourself in the mirror! I do appreciate the offer, though.

Yeah, you still have to pay for parking, pay the ballpark prices for food, and fight the crowds. But you don't really see the action firsthand. Might as well stay home and watch on TV to save even more money. If you're gonna go, pay for the good seats!

Pretty much. The Tigers (my wife is from Detroit), so she wants to see them play the Los Angeles Mike Trouts of Anaheim. As a Red Sox fan, I don't really care for either team, but I don't want to sit in a different zip code than the game itself. And this is after we went to all three Tigers games in San Diego a couple of months ago.

As a Red Sox fan
The only thing worse than a Red Sox fan is a Red Sox fan who isn't confined to the Boston area.

Oh, hell no. But the only team I dislike more than the Yankees or the Red Sox is the Giants.

I spent Saturday evening writing a userscript for Dicsourse...
Spent Saturday:

Digging out bushes, and having to do first aid for a hedge-trimmer accident… sigh, there's a reason my partner shouldn't use power tools.
-
Went to a Twins game (baseball) here. Just wish the Twins showed up for it:
-
Then went and listened to some live music and drink Guinness, lots of Guiness.

I prefer K&R / Egyptian braces{ }, brackets[ ], parens( ), and bra-kets< > myself.
But if I'm in yur bukit, I'll play by the house rules. That's what tidy / Artistic Style / GC Great Code / StyleManager etc are for! As long as the style is consistent — play on.

Minnesota's a nice place to visit, and other than the weather (we get colder than Alaska and can get as warm as Texas), not a bad place to live.
Been to Boston (I'm assuming you're Bostonian :) ), and it's also a nice place. Need to go back for a visit.

Never lived in Massachusetts. Northeastern CT, now living in California.

Ah… was assuming due to the Celtics background in you profile.now living in California.
California has some nice places to visit, but in general, is to wacked out to be a place I'd want to live in.

Black and Gold, actually.
And I'd never live in California outside of San Diego.

I like how the show cites him as the publisher of a magazine that has been defunct since before the show started.

Hey, I take offense at being compared to @ben_lubar and I bet he does, too!

That looks... interesting. Maybe I give it a look. Then again, it's still just a patch over JS, much like Objective C, and C++ (at least when it begun).
-
Exactly, but given how far JS has come - like people building emulators in it - anything to make it faster is not necessarily a good idea... might encourage more egregious abuse.
-
Ironically, I'm far happier with it when decoupled from the web and put into a more controlled environment. Qt's QML can contain JS for scripting. But what you can enforce there (within your own project at least), is calling C++ functions to do complex stuff and just use JS to assemble the components with ease.
Sure someone will abuse it. I kinda did abuse it myself. While learning QML I made a quick (incomplete) Space Invaders clone using exclusively QML and JS (C++ was there just to start the runtime), but it was surprisingly simple and rather elegant code, even though I was just a noob at it.
-
In my case I've become so inured to web programming that not web programming is mildly nerve wracking.

At a company I once worked for that process took about 9 months...

We're talking about that lunar lander game I was doing, then put on hold for other stuff, and am back to and thinking 'damn I really messed this up' when it came to the vector addon I was using, since I'd really like to have the glowing lines effect on it but that requires rejigging everything over to make it work right.

Ok, probably not 9 months ;-)

I haven't even spent 9 days on it yet, but seriously thinking I need to restart with a more sane approach for whatever sanity means.
