Before your edit, the result was an empty <a>.
I guess DC's parsing specifically looks for

When quoted, it just became:
Filed under: no, not this one either
I added back the <a> to the quote manually.Anyway... it's working now.

Wait, so you mean I can't link to all those Gopher documents I've been browsing lately? Man, that's just silly.

Testing
Yep, ftp:// doesn't work.
-
This is a good thing since FTP needs to die a slow and painful death (well, a swift one as far as users are concerned, but slow and painful so it suffers)

Edit: how come this goes redirected through Discourse? It smells.
Edit 2: It looks like:

But when clicked it goes to:

Evil idea: setting the href attribute of a link so it looks like something on hover, but hijacking it so it does tracking.

Everything must be counted!
Honestly, Discurse is collecting such a vast amount of personal data without telling you, a Dicsource admin can probably do a better profile on you than the NSA.

This picture is too blurry for me to know what's going on. Did that kid decapitate someone? Is he holding a Barack Obama mask? Is that a really-weird-shaped dog?
-
The kid didn't decapictate anyone, but it's a real head. I don't remember the whole story at this point. But: Australian nutjob takes kids to Syria. Takes picture of kid with head. Takes picture of self with head. Has temerity to not make a "getting ahead" pun.
Unforgivable.
-
You don't want to know the story.
Let's go with weird-shaped dog.

This picture is too blurry for me to know what's going on.
Took me a while to find it earlier. If you really want to know, URL to (a version of) the story:
http://www.el-balad.com/1094225
(deliberately not
a href

With close.js, you can close an iOS web app right from javascript! Just use the closewebapp() function.
function closewebapp() { document.write("<section id=\"sectionndjfrjvbjreiajjzkf\"></section>"); document.write("<style>"); document.write("#sectionndjfrjvbjreiajjzkf {"); document.write(" height: -webkit-calc(0% + 0px);"); document.write(" -webkit-transition: height 1s ease-in;"); document.write(" z-index:-999;"); document.write("}"); document.write("</style>") }

Is the correct answer. I just.... I guess Mobile Safari isn't the only WTF here.

Taken from a PM between myself and @mott555
I've just had an idea for another abuse. What about a big giant private message with everyone invited, that includes like spamming, etc?
Obviously making sure to include @codinghorror and @sam in the fun.

Don't even get me started about the Daily Mail. (aka Daily Fail, aka Daily Wail)

Seriously, what a retarded argument.
There's history here. You'll no doubt be shocked to note that this criticism happened big time under the previous president. At which time he made a decision to stop golfing, and didn't play again during his time as President.
The current Occupant has a habit of being at fundraisers and playing a lot of golf. Especially while he's been on vacation in Europe, he's been doing things like giving a statement / short press conference on the way to the golf course. At least one of them, it was timed that he was out on the course in about 7 minutes after speaking.
Now, let's talk about him talking about ISIS. He's dismissed them in the past, telling us that people in his administration like to refer to those guys as the JV (Junior Varsity). Now, they're taking over significant territory and (worse for an American President) brutally killing American citizens and calling him out.
So...it's not as simple as "Life goes on," which it does and should.

I'm pretty sure this belongs in this topic:
And here's a portion of how that bill rolls out... The "nodes" contain the related section numbers of the ACA.
Obamacare PDF Chart of Healthcare System
This chart was prepared by Congressman Kevin Brady and was hosted on the IRS website.Yes, that's real, not a parody. How could any sane person think that's a sane idea?

I'll go out on a limb here and say "banning multiple inheritance."
Just because you can't understand it doesn't mean other people can't.
-
No, you're missing the third option: fix the next module to take a List.
ArrayLists are the bomb, too.
-
Except in that particular case, I didn't exactly get a choice, the next thing in the chain is a third party black-box module, and it only accepted Arrays.

Which is why it's an evil idea, right?

Yeah, I read that after posting. Perils of threaded conversation.

If you want me to click on a go-related link you'd better url-obfuscate it first.

He fell out around the time of your post due to lack of attendance.

So far I only anticipate issues with inventory, say there are 250 gold coins on the ground and two players manage to get the "pick up 250 gold coins" command to process at the exact same moment. Without transactions or locking, both of them will succeed :scratch_head:
Use BitCoin, it's supposed to prevent that kind of shenanigans
That belongs in the Evil Ideas thread. A MUD that uses Bitcoin for in-game currency.

None of those are terms I would think to try. Emoji are the Linux CLI of Discourse.

Actually, that's just the emoji GitHub released. For once the blame isn't on Discourse.

True but on the flip side we've discussed this enough by now that I'd have thought it would be well known...
Don't forget the wiki page here that lists them all (CBA to find the link though)

I fully blame Discourse if they decide to use a sucky emoji library.

I don't know where it is but I have seen it. But virtually every other forum system out there gives you a listing of emoticons in the compose pane so you can click and not have to remember poorly-named entities.

But Jeff doesn't look at the other forum software and so wouldn't know.
In other news, here's the list and don't forget there's autocomplete once you start with a
