@boomzilla He may be on to something though, as I was completely unaware that Disney had even made a new movie. The only thing I know about Coco is that it features a terrible Frozen short before it.
This, plus I saw an ad on the side of a bus from which I discerned the words "Disney" and "Coco." I still have no idea what Coco itself is about.
I've read a bit about it. It's about a Mexican kid and his dead grandmother or something. Anyways, a lot of it takes place in Mexican heaven or something. Supposedly some very sad parts...people say that everyone cries when they watch it.

As though they're not already on there. (or whatever the new/cool platform-of-the-minute is...)

That might've been from sitting through that Frozen spin-off first.

@scholrlea Hmmn, maybe a few more brillant games for the Derpy Dozen:
-
Sega Saturn: Virtula Kueki - because the first time wasn't bad enough.
-
Polycytes - you only wish it was an urban legend.
Filed Under: I vant to bore you stiff.
-
-
@scholrlea Blah, you fixed it just as I was about to quote it and question your ability to grammar. However, at least I understand you now.
-
@hardwaregeek In that case, your Japanese is better than mine, as I had to look up the word for 'grind'/'drudgery'. I'm not sure if I got it right, either, because Google Translate.
-
@scholrlea I was referring to your Filed Under, not the Japanese game, or whatever the heck it is.
-
@hardwaregeek Ah, gotcha.
The references are to Virtual Hydlide (and less directly, Virtua Fighter and the whole 'Virtual' naming gimmick for Saturn games), an infamously bad and grindy remake of an infamously bad and grindy NES game that is basically an inferior version of Legend of Zelda (well, technically Hydlide came first, but truth is a to snark), and the hoax/urban legend about an arcade game called Polybius that supposedly was used as a mind control experiment in 1981.

@scholrlea Hmmn, maybe Stupordude 69? Nah, even making a parody of Superman 64 would be dull.
And for anyone who needs a score card:
-
DT: The Enlarged Liver == ET: The Video Game
-
Hyena Gals vs Laughin' Jokin' Numbnuts ==Cheetahmen, plus James Rolfe's old nemesis , LJN Games, Inc.
-
Concertina of Space == the Philips licensed Zelda games.
-
Big Dogs: Over The Ice Sliding == Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing
-
Eternally Irradiated Dude == Duke Nuke'm Forever
-
I Just Wanna Ride My Motorsickle == Ride To Hell Retribution 1%
-
Boobie Count == Hatred, or more specifically, the games that tried to imitate it in the hope that the controversy would equate to sales
-
Island of Slaughtering Survival Z: Day One - any of the millions upon millions of zombie FPS games on Steam, really.
-
Sturgeon Stimulator == Surgeon Simulator
-

-
@zecc Why do you think the Blue Man Group is blue?
-
@pie_flavor Because it would be silly if a group called Blue Man Group were red?
-
@zecc Because they're eternally irradiated!

Why would it be necessary for the name of a group to accurately describe them?

It's left as an exercise to the listener to figure out which one isn't a girl?

Hughes only recently converted to flat-Eartherism, after struggling for months to raise funds for his follow-up flight over the Mojave.
...
a lot of people in other parts of France would be mystified or even offended if you accused them of being even slightly Ch'ti.He's just using them for their money, apparently.
Yeah he seems to have played the flat-Earthers good.
I have always assumed there's a tongue-in-cheek element going on with the Flat-Earthers.

If not, I'm sure I can fix that issue pretty quickly.

Mind you, some context might help here.
Or not.
Of course, that wasn't the end of the matter :
Filed Under: I am begging you, gimme the formula for this, Eris damn it!

@boomzilla I wonder what the long-term effects of that on their children will actually be. We know that both alcohol and tobacco smoking are contraindicated during pregnancy, and it is likely that smoked pot will also be (because it's still smoke) but now there'll likely be enough openness to track down properly what the long-term effects of ingested pot are on foetuses. At the level of populations and looking for rare things, not just the gross effects (which are about all that can be found in small studies).
All in the spirit of scientific inquiry, of course.

@boner I guessed from the letters. My main question is: Why did it get posted in this thread?

Probably not a good idea for a white female to wear blackface to impersonate a black male singer.
And that ignores the fact that she's a couple of octaves off...

Well, sure, not every impersonator is great, but that's variety shows for you.

Bad Idea: a new thread entitled "Prop' Goes the Weasels" for posting particularly hilarious examples of propaganda and advertising.
Why is this a bad idea? Well, you can just imagine the flame fest this would cause. Every on topic post would probably be followed by ten pages of shouting and name calling.

Back in the '80s, there was a syndicated lip-sync show called Puttin' On The Hits. Contestants were judged on "appearance", "lip-sync", and (to our continuing amazement) "originality".

Well, the date on the video is March 31st, 2013, so not really that early.
