Quarterly Mode logic in For Loop (Java)

  • From a recent Stack Overflow question:

Am a Academic Student, Doing a Project for Private Hospital, I need to work out one logic, i.e For a financial year, in quarterly basis i need to give an incentives to employees, For Example, Dr.AAA Date of Joining is 01/01/2012, After successfull one year ,bonus pay is eligible, so we are Planning to give bonus from this year, since its oneyear completions it should display as Year-"01"

In first Quarter am giving an bonus to an employee so in Program it should display as "1" then second quarter "2" , third quarter "3", fourth quarter "4". Once four quarters completed for that financial year, system should auto increment the year to "2" then the same four quarters should calculate. How to form a logic for this situation, am very begining in computer programing in java, can u pls help me out

    We're all fucked.

Yeah; if I were a "private hospital" I wouldn't trust this guy to create code to manage bonus pay. Really, if the program screws up in any way, you'd either have employees pissed because their bonus was not calculated correctly; or overjoyed because their bonus was not calculated correctly. In either case, whos ever heard of a private company automatically calculating bonuses across the board merely for years of service?

Absolutely that's the case, or else someone's still doing payroll by hand, because any decent payroll software will know how to do something basic like that.

Classic. I generally filter such things out automatically now, but I went back to re-read the OP in light of your post, and it's pretty fucking jarring!

YEs, i would love to know if it was based on some misunderstood rules or logic.

this is Why i believe in Souls; because if humans were Perfectly logical machines they Wouldn't Do completely arbitrary Things Like this capitalization

I assume the writer is German when that happens; different rules for different languages. IIRC it's common to capitalize nouns in German.

I could never live in Germany then.

But it isn't just nouns. I would understand it if it was. It just seems to be random words, without no discernible pattern to them. Just look at the original post: it's all over the place - adjectives ("Private"), verbs ("Doing"), even fucking prepositions ("For"). IT... MAKES... NO... SENSE...

Speaking several languages myself (German among them), I just can't imagine any language, no matter how exotic (caveat: extraterrestial origins excluded) with such random capitalization rules.

I think it's an issue with Indians (dots, not feathers), because I believe Hindi doesn't have the concept of capitalization. So the know that some words should start with a capital letter, but have little to know idea what the rules are - or worse, they think they know what the rules are but are sorely mistaken.
