No, but you're telling me developers should add GUIs to their programs, when for most other developers, there's no reason to.
Have you ever heard the phrase "self-fulfill--" oh wait this post is a repeat.
Please demonstrate the ability to absorb new ideas before posting again.

Cite your shit
Every developer I know in person.
But if you insist...

- GUI
- No GUI

Yes, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. How is that an issue? I make tools that I personally find useful. So... the issue is?
-
but I learned the CLI and it would be wasted extra work
And you are just proving the point. If the gui had existed first, and you were introduced to it first, the shoe would be on the other foot

That's not an issue. You can do whatever the fuck you want. I'm not a dictator.
The issue arises when you push those tools on other people. If you're promoting the tool to other people, but you've made zero effort to make the tool usable or accessible, well, then I'm going to call you an incompetent asshole.
-
Linus Torvalds is personally forcing you to use Git. Got it.
Pretty sure the Git developers aren't pushing tools on anyone.
-
That's a lot of work, code, and time that you really don't need to spend to support 1% of users.
That's quite the asspull figure there…

I usually use git's CLI over SSH, and when I'm not home, I don't have enough bandwidth to do remote desktop.

No, Blakeyrat's employers are. The Git developers are pushing the lack of a GUI though

Here's their homepage:

made zero effort to make the tool usable or accessible
They haven't though. The command line version is very accessible. And it even comes with a rudimentary GUI. That's nowhere near zero effort.
-
https://git-scm.com/
Git is easy to learn
It says right there on the website that it's easy, so you must be wrong

What assistive technologies does it work with? Praytell.
-
Any assistive technology that works with text?
Seriously, do you even think before you post?
-
Nope!

Isn't he just the hero of people that don't seem to exist.
Listen, California and some other states have made it easy for a scumbag lawyer to
earnmake a ton of easy money actually exploiting people, rather than actually making money via a more honest living like loan sharking, so shysters gonna shyst.

The same ones cmd.exe works with. Since it works from cmd.exe

Besides -- apparently Blakey is useless here -- he didn't realize that you need an interface to specify which branches you're operating on before you go into the equivalent of repository brain surgery!
-
All @blakeyrat really wants is a GUI that will run
git merge --squash branchname
for him. Is that really too much to ask for?
-
Nope... He's been shown one...

With a label that doesn't talk about squash
-
It's not -- but apparently he couldn't recognize the interactive-rebase GUI that was presented to him, either.
-
Is that really too much to ask for?
I assume this question is rhetorical, because the answer is obviously "yes".
-
The Git developers are pushing the lack of a GUI though
Are they? I neither use nor follow its development. I assumed they just worked on the stuff they used and let other people work on GUIs (it's not like none exist). I suspect no one would like the GUI they came up with.
Of course, people like @blakeyrat think that people who can't make GUIs shouldn't program. He's a terribly exclusionary person and should check his privilege.
-
For the record, I do all commit and stashing operations using git-cola while I push and rebase using CLI. I picked "GUI" in this case, although I feel there should be some option in between.
