Debate on speeding, with a side order of "For $60, you can hack a connected car (original topic)"

even those that were specifically designed to be used as anti-tank weapons, have the same caveat.
Show me the best antitake weapon ever and i'll design a tank that can withstand it.
i'm not saying i can make an invincible one mind you, but if the tank needs to be able to withstand a direct hit by a nuke, i could make that happen (probably not and have it crewed with humans, but there you go)

"How are we gonna stop tanks?"
"We're going to make sticky bombs."
"Sticky bombs?"
"It's in the handbook. Give me your socks."

well. that's going to take a lot of armor, but yeah i can make a tank withstand it.
withstand it and be an effective main battle tank? maybe not, but i can make one withstand the warthog.
-
But in our ever-increasingly interconnected world, where you can control your central heating at home in, say, Sheffield from a hotel room in, say, Kuala Lumpur, surely it should be a consideration?
Did these people not see the Battlestar Galactica reboot?!

OK, but will it be able to move around as well? As in be a tank instead of a fixed emplacement?
-
/me does some math on a piece of paper
yeah. should move. you'd be able to out walk it's pace, but it would be mobile
back of the envelope calculations show that it should be about... somewhere between 1500 and 1700 metric tons.... we've moved things that heavy before. (for reference the Saturn V was ~3000 metric tons at launch)

: I've never owned a device powered by embedded Linux that was easy to update, like that DVR Dish Network gave me back in the day. Most of them have been impossible to update. My Android phone required invalidating the warranty.
I have experience with 5 models of Android phone across 3 manufacturers and 8 devices and 2 carriers: 2 HTC Inspire 4Gs, 2 Samsung GS3s, a Note 2, 2 LG G3s, and an HTC One M8. All of them have had at least one automatic OTA update, and nearly all of them went off without a hitch.
Just meeting your anecdote with another.

Most cars sold in Europe can top 90mph easily.
Hell, my '92 Geo Metro could hit 90, although it helped if you were going down a hill.

Leaning some tracks against the side of a nuclear bunker does not count?
-
It's just a Maus, right?

Not exactly a direct hit, but you get the point...
-
It withstood the explosion, but I wouldn't have wanted to be in it…
Unless I got superpowers; I'd be OK with that :)
-
Does lymphoma constitute a superpower?
-
No

Prepare for disappoint, then.
