You know you've been at TDWTF too long when...
-
Did he cut you off in the line?
-
No, actually I noticed the SUV passing me on the left just before my exit. Had an Illinois Blackhawks plate that read HANZO and the B/H designation on the right side. My instinct was to get my phone out to snap a picture, but I had to exit the freeway at that point or be stuck another 4 miles going away from the work site I was scheduled to be visiting.
-
for whoosh...
-
Total whoosh. Still no idea what the reference is.

Thank you. Now I know I'm out of it today. Normally would be obvious to me. I'm going home now.

You read something like

and understand that last acronym without even thinking about it.

So... when you're browsing on mobile for over 10 minutes?

It actually lasted until I had catched up.
My phone also can't decide between German en Danish providers

I know, right? He definitly meant cached up! As in loaded the stuff into his browsers cache

When you realize you used entire phone charge just on reading the damn forum
With Discourse that takes like 5 minutes.
-
It depends though. On my iPad mini, I can survive for a whole 10 minutes without running out of charge but that's hardly catching up a lot of the forum in that time...

+1
I have to get to wha before the forum comes up.
My actual results:
w -> wunderground.com weather
wh -> whitesox.com
wha -> what.thedailywtf.comMust be a local thing. ;-)

It's
w

I have it documented that with a Droid Maxx's extended life battery, a full 12 minutes works from full charge to when you need to plug in again - and you have to wait 20 minutes before there is enough charge before the forum can run safely again, as the charger can't keep up.
Discourse must really hate Androids. Your results with Windows phone or iPhone may vary. ;-)

No, it seems to hate Windows Phone and iPhone too.

Yay fonts

I get Windows Memory Diagnostic
i get my chrome bookmark for this site...
but then i am here mostly constantly.
-
-
Hmm... maybe I get different results because I open a tab for this site first thing after logging on to the machine, and don't close it till I shut the machine down...
-
I never close the tab in the first place
i open new tabs constantly particularly when i open the notification thingie and think "oh i need to deal with that later but the blue thing is gone now" so open in new tab.
then i close all the tabs and need a bookmark. :-P
-
i open the notification thingie and think "oh i need to deal with that later
I don't open the notification bubble unless I have 10*(blue-notifications) minutes I can devote to dealing with the notifications :)

w is enough for me, too, but
I never close the tab in the first place
this, unless I shut Chrome down entirely because some other process needs more memory than the crumbs on the floor under Chrome's table.
-
Only needing to type
w
removes the need for any bookmark
-
this way i don't even need to have Chrome open to get it. :-P
-
I shut down Chrome each time I'm done with the last tab.
Each topic gets opened in its own tab, which is closed when I'm done.

tells me how many open terminal windows I've got…
Except in the browser, where it takes me here.
-
Why? I never close the tab in the first place
I have a bookmark that goes to:
http://what.thedailywtf.com/?filter=bookmarked
It's on my bookmark menu, called 'TDWTF Stars." Because @sam and @codinghorror ruined one of the best features and haven't come through yet with the replacement UI that they used to silence me.
-
I kinda do that. It keeps Chromecourse from eating all the memory...
-
YKYBATDWTFTLW you get an alert that you are reaching the limit on your data plan, and it's only one day into the new cycle with what.thedailywtf.com being the only thing in your browsing history.
-
YKYBATDWTFTLW upon encountering the character creation screen when playing DC Universe with friends, you proceed to look at possible skin types, and end up creating a fox-girl.
-
-
That was entertaining. Especially Captain Australia.
-
Why do you need that when @pjh already enabled the top level bookmarked menu item here? Also there is a css class now for op-bookmarked you can use for extra styling if needed.
-
The bookmarklet is much more convenient than a top level filter. It's always right there. I used to use the keyboard shortcuts to get to my stars / favorites.
-
I will fix gb not sure how I missed that.

Yep, that works for me, too. It used to take me to IMDB, but that's now #3 on the list, behind irs.gov. I'm not sure how Chrome orders the options, because I never type isitjustme...; it just sits in an open tab, but I nearly always go to IMDB by typing the (start of) the URL. I'm guessing it ranks isitjustme... and irs.gov ahead of IMDB because they start with "i," but IMDB is www.i...

Ooo, ooo, lemme guess: you didn't bother testing whether it worked. Is that the answer?
-
chrome://predictors/
TIL. Interestingly, there are only three entries in the list that have non-zero confidence.- wh -> what.thedailywtf.com (confidence = 1)
- y -> www.youtube.com (confidence = 0.6666666666)
- t -> translate.google.com (confidence = 0.6363636363)
Ha, I just biased it so that now "en" -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page with confidence 1. IMDB isn't even on the list (but it does suggest it???); let's see if I can boost its rank... On the list with zero confidence, but now appears ahead of irs.gov. One more time... Now first suggestion, but still zero confidence. Again... and confidence 1. Three seems to be the magic number — accept a suggested autocompletion three times, and it decides you really mean it.

OK, added

"Just the place for a Snark!" the Bellman cried,
As he landed his crew with care;
Supporting each man on the top of the tide
By a finger entwined in his hair."Just the place for a Snark! I have said it twice:
That alone should encourage the crew.
Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice:
What i tell you three times is true."Emphasis mine…

Still, it's not the worst:
Oddly though, if I just type 'u', the bar preselects ubuntu.com. A site I rarely, if ever, visit
