The likes topic is a barrier to reading the badge page

Filed under: And you can't like in closed topics.
Do likes made before closure remain or disappear? I know they disappear when a post is deleted, (and don't return if undeleted.) I'd look, but CBA. Must be catching....

Especially, after @Luhmann said "zizi".
No, my brain replaced the vowels and thought of this:
I'm starting to think that I might have a problem.

I know what you mean. I once played "The Settlers" more or less nonstop for a couple of days. Then I had to take a day off because I had to work. As a "white van man".
Driving along the road, I passed a rather boggy meadow next to a small wood. I looked outside the window, saw that patch of land and my first thought was: "Now this would be a good place to build a castle".
I knew then that I should perhaps spend less hours glued to the screen of that game.

Yeah, I've had very similar experiences after long periods in Final Fantasy VII, the original Tomb Raider games (I could totally jump up that shop wall, then run to there, jump over that...) and several others.
The strangest ones are from puzzle games though. I played puzzle quest quite a bit on the train to work at one point, and eventually started seeing patterns in everything. I had to force myself to stop playing before I discovered that the Matrix is real.

There exists a rather good Tom Hanks movie about what this can lead to.

I am going to have to exclude PMs from badges, so might as well have a generic way to exclude categories while at it, I guess.

I'll let you know that I'm keeping my zizi as far away as possible from your e-peen and @PJH's balls.

They do a perfectly adequate job of keeping themselves away from his zizi.

@sam: thanks for a a new method of notification spamming:
I'm sure it will be appreciated in this community!
-
Additionally if you click on it you go to the general 'nice post' page. I expected to be taken to the post granting the badge, like other notifications take you to a specific post.

I wanted to, but I couldn't.

Heh, I find it readable down to 6 <small> tags but could handle 7 in a pinch. 8 is right out though. My display's pixels don't go that small.

8 nested <small> tags
And that's why I always have a text editor open so I can paste the
idiocyabuse like this into it.jerks.

Five big tags, one small tag
Normal text for comparison
Five small tags, one big tag

Big -> Small -> Big -> Small
Small -> Big -> Small-> Big

I once drove through a post-concert pedestrian-filled stadium parking lot mere hours after playing Carmageddon. Took all my willpower not to accelerate madly into the crowd.

It takes a real group effort to spam someone that way though!

At least there are no higher numbers or @mikeTheLiar would be in real trouble.

Of course @Keith1 and all the other @Keith's up to @Keith101 could make @mikeTheLiar the first to receive a badge for a Great Post .

Not really? At what index did Discourse prevent you from creating an account?

Pretty sure he's joking.
Surely.
Right?
-
Because I'm curious how such a small bird can sport a dragon sized zizi. I bet @the_dragon also wonders.
Such philosophical questions. Unfortunately for said bird, we shall never know.

Viva la "Likes Thread"!
-
I think what @Luhmann was suggesting (and if I'm getting this wrong, oh well) is that when viewing a badge, you could display which users have received that badge, and how many times they've received it. Clicking on a user could expand that user and display specific instances for that user, much like you have now.
one topic generating a gazzilion badges is not something that I really should be designing for
I don't think this is so much an issue. Think of it as the Likes Thread is simulating a more ... aged forum that has naturally developed all of those Good Post and Nice Post badges. Even with a more standard use case, the badge breakdowns are bound to eventually get very full.

I was on a road once on my bike, and I heard a heavy engine R-R-R-R-R sound behind me.
I thought it was one of these bastards:

I thought it was one of these bastards:Or an RPG with laser guidance. But only if it were out of reach.

I'm interested in how you're going to reach the gunship with your one-foot-long crowbar.

Add in zombies, nazis, aliens, and terrorists, and you have a really confusing Valve game.

Lordy... Thanks (really) for the 1½ hour detour down Half Life wiki lane ( may need to play them )…
-
Don't play Half-Life 1.
Play the community remake with the same story and better graphics.

That reminds me, while touring the US last year, I found me a road sign leading to Black Mesa.

Still no Xen though, right?
Not a fan of Xen levels, but they are a part of the original game so...

Agreed. HL1 would have been just fine if it ended at the teleporter to Zen.
