@Magus I just installed that today. WTF is the new, official app called "Skype preview" for?

I was thinking maybe the "infotainment" system, because, yeah, otherwise how would it run if it didn't boot?
-
@FrostCat Because it's only available through the Windows Insider program right now. It autoupdated the old one to that for me, but I'm quite certain that it'll lose that in the release.

Oh. Well, I'm sure there's more layers of to untangle here but I CBA.

Well it is a Manual transmission, but I'm pretty sure it's still chipped up so losing the truck's control unit would render it inoperable, so...

All I remember is looking for that option several times over the last year and it never being there...
Hmm. I was going to post an image, but it doesn't show up on my win10 system since there's no windows.old right now.

Deleting. That and 'Get Office' too. And on every preview update, I have to delete those fuckers 2 times before they stay deleted.

Status: Yes VS2015, clicking 'stop debugging' actually means vanish without a trace and take my latest changes to the grave with you.
FFS, I need to finish this for first thing tomorrow morning and I want to actually go home at some point in between

Came home and my (Windows 10 ) PC had rebooted for mysterious raisins. I was hosting error_bot with Zork, so that's gone. Not that anyone was playing it.
Anyone got a better text based game I could port to error_bot?

Wait, you mean your latest changes weren't saved when starting debugging (due to the application being built and that saves all the things)????

Any of these you have?

Ooh. All this Win10 talk reminded me to check and it seems Orange have finally released the upgrade.
The Upgrade Advisor broke its promise to inform me when it was ready, though :(

I could probably find some. Most of them aren't text-based. I might be able to post a screenshot now and then, but it sounds like work.

Heh. I'm still not used to those being "things". Perfectly happy with my '05 Impala.

If you just disable notifications for Get Office, that's only one thing you have to do.

Awww I was quite enjoying watching you guys play that. :(

I'm trying to work with EPPlus so it's way easier to set a breakpoint before one of the report generators gets called and then develop in live debug so I can just reset the address pointer after making changes and try the generation again. Some of EPPlus's features (like image placement/manipulation are
totally bloody randomsensitive in how they affect things so this is the fastest way to try and beat it into submission.Live debug changes obviously don't get autosaved.

Is it? Huh. Never seen it before...
Oh wait, that was a thing in 2010 and below, but not anymore it seems...
You're going to be sore surprised (well, not anymore) when you upgrade to a recent version of VS...

Thanks! Original purpose was to provide intelligent-car-like-things in my 2011 Taco, like GPS and auto-synced music. I don't think I ever did make a topic though... Mostly just posts in the Status Thread (here).

Yep, 'save all' seems to work just fine while paused. So annoying though.
Edit: Less slacking and more losing the will to live...I wonder if the customer would notice if I just took all the images out...hmmm

Sounds awesome! I pretty much just use my smartphone for all that. With a Bluetooth speaker since the 05 Impala has no Aux port in the radio... It's literally the only thing i dislike about it. lol

Yeah, recently it's been a little less than stellar, and I don't have a lot of time to actually fix it up the way it should be. but hey, the new unit driving the system is running on Windows 10, that counts for something, right?

Can't you just stick an Android tablet in it ?
Bonus point: get an OBDII bluetooth reader and now you can monitor that engine in real-time.

Back then Android Tablets barely had Ice Cream Sandwich on them and were too slow to do things. Maybe next vehicle. The OBDII adapter works fine, but the licence for the diagnostics software (can't remember what it was called) didn't get transferred over so meh.
-
@Tsaukpaetra I have a nice addon: Saveallthetime

@Tsaukpaetra Are there any pictures of this thing? I would think it would have to be small, unless you don't care about where your passenger's legs go. xD

Before the previous revision, I was using a Gateway laptop that was designed to be a desktop replacement. It weighed around 9 lbs and was fairly massive. This meant that I could (obviously) not store said thing in the dash, so I made a box and put it behind the seat.
I might take pictures if I remember to do so after work.

I use this one
Probably not the best one, but it's free
Best one is supposed to be this one
Only $4.95

So it replaced the desk more than the desktop…

Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) - Android Apps on Google Play

Yes, I have this one, it's a charm!
But my unit is a Windows 10 device, and Google Play (nich, Android) apps don't tend to work on those very well...

Ahh, okay. I suppose if it was a laptop you could have gone with a dedicated laptop mount, if seeing the screen was important.

Yo MammaThis laptop was so big, I doubt a typical car mount would have held it. ;)

@Tsaukpaetra I've used OBD Auto Doctor to quickly check error codes. It was free but I can't remember if there was a paid version as well.

I do not have and have never had one, despite working for a company that made components used in some of them. I don't object to having one, but my vehicle is much too old to have one, and I won't be buying a new one any time soon (unless this one dies, in which case I would be buying the cheapest usable used car I can find, so still no infotainment system).
