Feature Request: User-Emoji
-
I would like to propose the syntax
{username}
to be added.
This should be replaced on client-side with<img src="path/To/{username}/avatar.whatevs" class="emoji" title=\"{username}">
In the optional scenario, this would update whenever the user updates his/her/its avatar. Though I could live with a static link. (I have no idea how NodeBB handles it's avatars).Filed Under: I don't know what kind of challenge this request poses, so if somebody feels up for that task, that'd be cool
-
@Kuro Elsewhere someone (PJH?) had suggested :@username: for the same purpose, which I thought was a good one.

@ben_lubar Oh snap. I've been struggling with this all freaking afternoon!
FTR: Fuck node and its async bullshit.

Yeah, I'll take blocking and threads any day.

Sweet, thanks.
Albeit the avatars are HUGE. Can we either add the emoji-class or add the following to the default CSS?
img.plugin-mentions-emoji{ border-width:0px !important; width:20px !important; height:20px !important; }
Filed Under: If this has been available the entire time, you should have told me before I posted this topic
Also Filed Under: Does this generate a mention, :@ben_lubar:

Except it only sometimes works:

Refresh, they were huge for me at first until I hard refreshed. Though I still have them huge in preview.

@Yamikuronue
E_CANNOT_REPRODUCE
, but it is two different CSS selectors in play (one for posts, one for composer)
-
@RaceProUK Nope, another hard refresh and it's still showing up huge.
<img src="/uploads/profile/289-profileimg.png" class="plugin-mentions-emoji img-responsive" alt="RaceProUK" title="RaceProUK">
.img-responsive, .thumbnail>img, .thumbnail a>img, .carousel-inner>.item>img, .carousel-inner>.item>a>img { display: block; max-width: 100%; height: auto; } .plugin-mentions-emoji { height: 20px; border: 0; display: inline; }
The top style is overriding the bottom one.
-
@Yamikuronue Weird; for me, the bottom style is overriding the top one
-
@RaceProUK Weird.
The top one is more explicit, and it does specify a height; if it didn't specify it'd be fine.
-
@Maciejasjmj Nope, no notification.

Full style in my browser:
.topic .posts .img-responsive.plugin-mentions-emoji { height: 20px; border: 0; }
Maybe you fell victim to that "being on the wrong NodeBB instance" thing we've been figuring out yesterday?
-
@Maciejasjmj Hmm... maybe. I did a hard refresh and cache clear from the dev tools in Chrome, and I'm still seeing it.

.img-responsive
is not more explicit than.plugin-mentions-emoji
.

Oh, you're right, there's a comma there. My bad
