NodeBB Taskbar shenanigans
-
So, I am having an issue here and I would like to have someone jump out and help me.
NodeBB has this feature is calls the taskbar. You usually don't notice it, but once you have a new chat message (or a minimized chat), you can marvel at the icons at the bottom right corner of your screen. Yes, that one. Thats the taskbar.
I have no idea if it has any other features, so ... go taskbar, I guess.The problem with the taskbar is, that on certain browsers (Firefox and Opera) it intercepts clicks for the entire width of the screen. Which means on the bottom 65 Pixels of the browser, nothing besides the chat-icons can be clicked.
Somehow this doesn't happen on Edge and according to @RaceProUK, Chrome throws a dice on whether it blocks input or not. (this not a quote)My initial response was:
Find out that the intercepting container was called
<div id="taskbar" class="taskbar navbar-fixed-bottom" data-active="1">
and trying the usual stuff to make it not fill up the entire width
div#taskbar.taskbar.navbar-fixed-bottom{ width:inherit; float:right; }
This was before I found out that Edge doesn't intercept the clicks.
None of the above CSS helped.
Now I am really not sure how to progress.Maybe somebody knows what the problem actually is and how to solve it.

It's also where the Red Boob appears
-
@RaceProUK I mentioned it in the boob-topic already... but I don't see that one anymore. It sometimes just flashes up.
Filed Under: But yeah, you are correct
-
Well, works for me in Opera.
@Kuro, what's your window/screen width there? Maybe it messes up based on layout size?

Okay,
div#taskbar.taskbar.navbar-fixed-bottom{ left:auto; }
fixes it.
Filed Under: Now with proper code-tag

Guys, I need help with this! I can't move the taskbar anywhere but the bottom!
I tried looking for a "Lock the taskbar" option in settings, but I can't see it, and dragging it doesn't seem to work!Help!!!!1!11on11one!!eleve11!

@Kuro said:
div#taskbar.taskbar.navbar-fixed-bottom{
left:auto;
}Don't worry, I got you covered:
div#taskbar.taskbar.navbar-fixed-bottom{ top:0; bottom:auto; left:auto; }
Filed Under: Now somebody make a sidebar out of it
-
@Kuro Just a quick note:
div#taskbar
should suffice as the selector (#taskbar
is an ID, and is therefore unique (in theory))

@RaceProUK
Yeah, makes sense. I am just worried that somebody on the NodeBB-theme-dev-team messed up and reused the id somewhere...Filed Under: Better safe than sorry
