You want your read time? HERE'S YOUR BELGIUM READ TIME!!!

Is this a statistic that's available on the new forum? If so, did it carry over from Discourse?

Dunno, and almost certainly not. That table was one of the bigger ones. One row per user, per post read.

-
You would have preferred a comma-separated list of read times of random posts?

Really !
Yup. And the tables sole purpose was to record how long the post was visible on your screen....

Of course not. It needs to be a JSON document in a document DB!

Ok, wrong doesn't exclude the possibility of :doing_it_wronger:.

doing it wrong wrong? Is that doing it right or doing it wrong differently? Or doing a bad job of doing it wrong, maybe causing it to be extra wrong?
-
Yes, doing it more wrong. I'd have said :doing_it_worse:, but worse is the comparative of bad, not wrong. Also, wronger, not being a real word, is funnier. (Although I'm sure some humorless Blakeys would dispute that last statement.) (Also, pedantically, wronger is a word, but only in the sense of "one who commits a wrong.")

And the route responsible for updating that was pretty consistently the top route on the daily performance reports.

@boomzilla it was showing up so much in NodeBB's logs that I had to block it in the reverse proxy.

Read that as
@boomzilla was showing so much in the logs...
...Lack of caffeine can be fun at times!
Also, holy fuck, are mentions being parsed in code blocks? They are in preview anyway...

In Discourse, quotes in code blocks were parsed and triggered notifications ...
-
So, what's my read time now?
-
@fbmac Who knows? Haven't found it in NodeBB.
-
@fbmac I'm fairly sure that if NodeBB is working, you read time is best measured in milliseconds.
Or is this something else entirely? :D

At least I'm pretty sure that if NodeBB wanted this information, it'd be something more sane than that (because seriously, who in their right mind...). Carrying it over should've been something like
SELECT userid, SUM(readtime) FROM postreadtimestable GROUP BY userid
so you could collate them by user and then just get the total read time for each... one record per user per post read is just fucking stupid...

Ok:
@shadowmod random readtime fbmac
:P

Dwarf Fortress tracks a lot of things, but it doesn't track read time.
-
@abarker It might be more important to establish his delete-time…

@abarker I'm not sure I want to know what's mine, but what's mine?
