Works for me either way, as long as there's no selection when I press the quote button in the toolbar.(Of course in the latter case you'll get two quotes)
True.

i think you need to degaus your monitor there.... that's some blurry ass text you posted there....
The video was recorded on something slightly better than a potato - that's at max res on youtube's default view. Apparently the budget was all spent on making PHP less y, and thus there was no money left to upgrade their video cameras.

Hit the regular reply, not the second one you get when you highlight text. Then click the quote button in the editor, and you'll get the full text of the post.
I said I already tried it. I tried it again and it still does nothing. Do I have to make a sacrifice to Jeff Atwood before it works?
-
No, but during a cootiestorm or bad network access it takes a while sometimes...

I feel like an idiot. Why are there two different quote buttons in the editor!? This whole time I have been clicking the blockquote button...
-
Discouverability error!

hey, i want a membership if you're starting a gang. but only if we can use force.
certain kind of devs need it

FTFM.have been clickingnever noticed the blockquote button...It could have saved me a tonne of typing on mobile.
-
You have a blockquote button on mobile?
-
By mobile I actually meant a tablet. So... that's different.
^$-$*@!, why does the bottom of the composer scroll out of view? I have to scroll to the bottom of the thread to get the <nobr> Reply</nobr> button back.

WOAH! That's actually a sensible use of resources…
-
Perhaps it should be a column on TDŴTF, "here's the shitty code and here's how you actually do it".
-
I said I already tried it. I tried it again and it still does nothing.
If there's server cooties it can take up to 15 seconds or more for the quoted text to actually appear.

Well, the unmentionable person above should know by now to use the one that uses
QUOTE_REAL
.
Filed under: Lamest attempt at re-railing ever!

It's
REAL_QUOTE
notQUOTE_REAL
! Or is itquote_for_real_this_time
? And did they keep the argument order the same?
-
And did they keep the argument order the same?
Doesn't matter. If the order is wrong, it'll detect it and swallow a warning about it by default
-
Except where it just accepts it regardless. Looking at you,
implode
.

Didn't
array_merge
have that fun thing that, if you tried to merge with an empty array, it mattered which parameter was the empty one, because the result would always be an empty array if you got it backwards? That was a bug I guess though, because it's not doing it any more. Can't remember which version, but I'm leaning towards
5.3.x
.
-
I don't remember that and I've been doing stuff in everything from 5.1 to 5.6 lately (yay compatibility on shitty servers)
-

I support this idea. Only trouble is going to be figuring out which ones are sincere and which ones are trolling the audience.
(Also, ŴTF did you do there? Does @royal_poet know you're Welsh?)

Might have been a thing in a minor point release. Might be I was hallucinating. Either way, I don't care enough to go and test a bunch of PHP versions for a repro since it's not an issue (any more?).

He's and alien and an Englishman all wrapped into one. Still not sure how that works.

I blame iOS for the accented letters.
Also, for the Welsh amongst us, The Daily Beth Y Fuck.

https://3v4l.org/ might help?

Lots of planets have an England?

I still think the ternary operator's left associativity is worse.
HOW DO YOU GET THE ASSOCIATIVITY OF THE TERNARY OPERATOR WRONG?!?!?
-
THIS. IS. PHP!!
