It could be referring to some other Nixon, of course.
Could be Governor Nixon of Missouri, of no relation to President Nixon as far as I know.
-
I just used a ‽ in an actual email to someone at work.
"Married filing separately on the same return" is a contradiction in terms, but it's also a legitimate tax filing status in DC.

#Wat?
-
That's next!
-
From our tables, for Connecticut:
- 01 SINGLE
- 03 MARRIED/SELF PLUS DEPENDENTS/FILING SEPARATELY
- 04 MARRIED/CIVIL UNION BOTH SPOUSES WORKING
- 05 MARRIED/CIVIL UNION FILING JOINTLY SPOUSE NOT EMPLOYED
- 06 HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
- 08 WIDOWER OR CIVIL UNION WIDOWER
For Puerto Rico:
- 01 SINGLE
- 02 MARRIED
- 03 MARRIED CLAIMING SELF OR FILING SEPARATE
- 04 MARRIED BOTH SPOUSES WORKING
- 05 MARRIED ONE SPOUSE WORKING
- 06 HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
- 09 MARRIED NOT LIVING WITH SPOUSE
- 10 MARRIED JOINT CLAIMING ALL
- 11 MARRIED JOINT CLAIMING HALF
- 12 MARRIED SEPARATE CLAIMING ALL
- 13 MARRIED JOINT CLAIMING NONE
- 14 MARRIED LIVING WITH SPOUSE
-
You're killing me.
The software I'm integrating provides these choices for CT:
*Single
*Married filing separately
*Married filing jointly
*Head of household
*Qualifying widow(er) with dependent childI absolutely CBA to try to figure out how to map that into our software, so I'm going to make someone else tell me. I'm a programmer, not a tax expert.
(For comparison, of the options VT has (I'm too lazy to look 'em up, and you can get them yourself if you can get the ones you've already showed), our software seems to internally (for withholding calculation purposes) boil them all down into "Single" and "Married".
Puerto Rico makes me Blakey-angry.

Seems like the only appropriate course of action, even without the CBA bit.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/belgium/11661312/Belgium-defies-France-with-euro-coin-marking-Napoleon-defeat.html (Ok - uncensored link here.)
Belgium on Monday began minting €2.50 coins marking the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's defeat of at the Battle of Waterloo, after France forced it to scrap a two-euro coin made for the same purpose.
Paris objected to the new Belgian coin, commemorating the French emperor's defeat by British and Prussian forces, earlier this year, saying it would create tensions at a time when Europe's unity is under threat. So they did it anyway...
But Belgium has managed to skirt the French protests using a rule that allows eurozone countries to unilaterally issue coins if they are in an irregular denomination - in this case, €2.50.

Particularly the link :D

Particularly the link
Well quite - I had 5 different ninja edits in there before I ended up having to resort to a URL shortener to get it to post without being mutilated.

“Hillary Clinton did not say she specifically supports $15 an hour minimum wage,” said co-host Willie Geist. “She supports those workers’ fight to get the fifteen dollars.”
“What? I don’t get it,” Brzezinski said.
“She supports an increase, but not necessarily at the $15 that they’re fighting for,” said Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin. “It is another issue on which she’s not taking a firm position.”

If you turn Mick Hucknall upside down he looks like the older ape from Planet Of The Apes.

How do you find something like that out

Trial and error, of course. Or, if you're @ben_lubar, you'd write a Go script

What if X was a Y? is the WORST I hate those, especially if they have Disney Princesses in them

Someone explain to me how that bow works. Is that like the world's most painful suicide attempt?
EDIT: oh hey I just got the joke. Yay me.

I hadn't noticed the bow until you mentioned it. Given the image is a deliberate joke, I'd hope the bow is too.

Checked the site, it is.
They got me, that's sure. I guess I'm cynical enough by now for that.
-
-
Yes that.

Wearing that shirt would be a great way to get "um, actually!" speeches from a million unwashed basement-dwelling nerds. Wear it into a crowded comic shop, I dare you.

Um, actually, I don't have a basement.
But yeah, that was the intention I guess. And they got me, since I'm so used to incompetence by now...
Wear it into a crowded comic shop, I dare you.
I'd accept the challenge, but I live in this beautiful place where stuff like "comic shops" don't exist.

Where do you get Godzillas!??!?!

If you mean the movies and stuff, you use Balkan Streaming. Also known as "torrents" in the rest of the world.
If you mean action figures or comics, eBay. Of course, you don't really buy the stuff, you pay for shipping and a tip to the seller, really.
Seriously, found a gamepad I want on eBay the other day for either $10 or $15, not 100% sure right now. What I am sure about is that shipping was $25...

There are some places my nose claims are best avoided. Comic shops are on that list, as are places selling war-gaming miniatures…
-
Is it?
You seem to have realized this, but for anyone who didn't know's benefit, that's a picture of Link, not Zelda. Zelda is a girl, and she's not the player character.

That's got to be dubbed…

You think so?
-
Of course; I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't

Is there a reason for the spreadsheet?
-
The fuck!? That's a new one, Discourse.
The reason is probably I drug my mouse slightly to far when rubber-banding the image and also Discourse decided to support uploading of CSVs and also I hate this shitty forum what a piece of ass.
-
Ah, ok. Also, nice pun.

They jointly produce 3 times the normal amount of waste paper.

That money isn't mine, I don't care if you have it, just please don't hurt me.I_AM_A_FUNNY_GUY 2594 points 17 hours agoFormer truck driver here, when I was held up I offered to teach the guy how to drive an 18 wheeler just so he would go the fuck away without hurting me.ErisGrey 917 points 16 hours agoThe only time I was "robbed" in person was working in a pawnshop at the age of 20. Normally you never have a single person alone at the shop, but an emergency came up with the managers kid, and the new guy was scheduled to be there in 15 minutes so it didn't seem to be that big of a deal.During those 15 minutes I had a crackhead come in trying to pawn/sell some womans shoes. I told him we don't take shoes. He looks around, pulls out his knife and tells me he wasn't leaving without some money. I looked at him and told him we do buy knives. His face changed to a, oh really?! expression. I asked to see it, and he handed it right over to me. "I just need $5."
That $5 knife is still a part of my collection.

'This will be the case of the new combined authority proposals working well, even at grass roots level.'

Apparently one of them calling his counterpart and agreeing on a time to do the mowing so one half doesn't always look ratty never occurred. How many jobsworths are involved in this?

That would, indeed, have been my guess.
