I was four when that came out…
Also, never played it.If we're doing gaming, something a little more contemporary:
It was either that or this; I decided to stick to official art ;)

You know before Nintendo mutilated that into a Star Fox game, it was a game with a strong female protagonist who didn't dress like a slut? Japanese are basically in the stone-age when it comes to gender issues. Christ.
This is the country that brought us Chobits, possibly the most misogynistic thing ever written:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aVvETNngco
"Here's the first message: woman are garbage."
"No, the first message is women are property. The second is that you can treat them like garbage."Oh, and Metroid: Other M. "How do we portray Samus as like a badass Sigourney Weaver-esque sci-fi hero?" "I know, how about when she sees her nemesis she turns into a LITERAL BABY and starts crying, staying frozen so long that it can kill her best friend?" "Brilliant! Let's make her worship some incompetent dumbass, too. And go back to an exploding ship just to get his helmet. And also instantly forgive him for LITERALLY SHOOTING HER WITH A GUN."
If you're going to do sexism, do it the Tex Avery way:
Dude wrote this shit in 1947 and it still comes across as 50 times more progressive than Japanese media made yesterday.

The only female character I know from that series is Krystal; it's not a series I've played or followed.

Not just gender issues; they're not exactly enlightened when dealing with foreigners either.Besides, you've read some of my stuff over at Sensible Gaming; one of those articles was about the portrayal of women in videogames, where my basic point was essentially 'stop turning strong female characters into sex objects'.
Anyway, here's Krystal with a few more clothes on, since I
haveam happy to post an image of a cute fox:
It's hard to find one of those where she isn't pretending to be a glamour model. But then that's the Internet for you, I guess…

Nintendo snatched away development from Rare when the game was half-complete. You can find original footage of Rare's game from like gaming con demos and such.
Then they turned Krystal into a slut (I think she had a different name in Rare's version) and added Fox in for no reason even though it didn't even slightly resemble any previous Starfox games.

Pretty sure that's the only female character there is. Japanese, remember?

Right. They're basically medieval in every aspect except technology.

You guys spend all your time drooling over new Nintendo games. So... uh... money where your mouth is, buddy.

While that may or may not be true of my co-writers (and feel free to take it up with them if you so wish, rather than attacking them by proxy), I personally haven't written about any Nintendo games; the closest I've come is the three Nintendo-exclusive Sega games I've reviewed.Plus it's possible to be a fan of a company and still be critical about it, as my Sega article shows.
I already had it downloaded; figured it's a shame to waste it.

Well whatever. I don't know who writes what, I just follow the Twitter feed.

Right; but if you're critical about a company while still giving it money, it also shows me (and the company) you don't really care at all and your opinion should be ignored.

I have no idea what this is but it comes up when you search "modern warfare 2 fox"

That's a bit black-and-white, but whatever, I guess…

That's the fox from the Kojima Productions logo; I think it's also used in the FOXHOUND logo from the Metal Gear Solid series.I ran out of Krystal pictures.

Someone's going to like today (Saturday's) Bing picture, which isn't this:

I love the way that fox is like "WTF man? …Fuck it, I'm off!"
@accalia to steal in 3…2… oh, wait, I already sent it to her Â:)
-
I just decided to pop into the thread and mention that me and my friends discussed something yesterday, mentioned that Russian experiment with taming foxes, and that I remembered, once again, that I would love to have a pet fox.
I mean, just look at this. Hell, I think @accalia might want to steal this face for an emoticon replacement :P

-
What, there have been no foxes for 15 days? THIS IS A TRAVESTY
-
Huh, I did not know that Skunks were related to mustelids. They aren't really mustelids though, and if the less ferret-like mustelids (otters, badgers, wolverine) aren't included I feel like skunks are a bit incongruous.

I was on the way home today, and I saw a fox from the train. He/she was just sitting there in the shrubbery at the side of the track, yawning and looking generally happy (in as far as I could tell in a couple of seconds glimpse).
I had no camera with me, so I've had to ask a stunt double to take the part.
