Is it glass shaped? Are you trying to tell me I can't tell the difference between 30 and 80?
When you're drinking? Then again, if you don't recognize that as the sort of glass used to put beer in, I'm thinking you're probably not the target audience here. Hmm...maybe time to Irish up the coffee....
-
Do they drive the same number of miles on average? Because your evidence doesn't back your assertion currently.
Maybe women are just naturally left side of the road drivers, so the results are different over there.
-
Are you suggesting there's something different between the two sexes?
Because that's sexist....
dimorphism is a lie
-

I must be getting subtle in my old age.
-
No, you are just staying observant.
-

We use mugs for beer, or handleless mugs. (AKA a glass)
I drink mostly wine, so I see wineglasses.
I don't know why you need an artsy glass for beer.

I don't care about your ignorance except to make fun of it.

harsh dude.

Discerning alcoholics will drink beer out of a teapot, or failing that, an old slipper...

From what I heard from unreliable sources, it actually affects the taste. Apparently.
I doubt those sources though.

I heard that beer tastes different if you drink it out of a glass vs. drinking it out of the can, which sort of makes sense (a little bit), but I can't imagine that different glasses would make the beer taste different...

That I can confirm. Then again, I never poured canned beer in a glass and conducted a controlled experiment, so I can't say if it's the container, or if all canned beer is just crap.
-
Canned coca-cola tastes different than bottled coca-cola.
-
but I can't imagine that different glasses would make the beer taste different...
Beer like Chimay comes with guidance on the bottle that you should only use glasses like this:
And not normal glasses.
I assume this is for taste reasons considering other beers also make pubs serve the special glasses with them.
-
Is that Chimay some kind of hipster beer?
-
No, it's Belgian Trappist beer.
-
TIL: Beligian Trappists are not hipsters.
-
I think monks are quite far from hipsters.
-
-
Maybe hipsters are more of a North American phenomenon...
Nope.

It's discouraged, though.

There's definitely a number of differences between drinking a carbonated beverage from its original container (can/bottle) or from a glass.
- I've read the can itself can affect the beverage ('tinny' taste).
- The structure of the beverage changes from being exposed to air as it is being poured into a glass
I definitely concur there's a difference between beer from the bottle or beer from a glass. The beer I usually drink is available in cans as well, but I consider that to be an abomination and refuse to buy it that way.

Good man ;)

Bubbles!
The shape and surface of the glass affects how the head forms and changes, which has a significant effect on the taste. In Prague some places serve beer with a 4-5" head, called "sweet".

That was more or less what I was going to say ... but note that, certainly in Belgium, there is also a lot of marketing involved ...
-
which has a significant effect on the taste.
Also the smell you get, which of course is a major influence in what we think we taste.

Oh, connoisseurs will claim anything to keep their habit up.
Give them a scientific blind taste test. You'll have to keep them from holding the glass though.
-
-
Well, if it's only the internal glass shape that causes the flavor to be better, you just wrap it in a cover that pads the shape to match a normal glass, then cover the normal glass with a uniform wrap.
You'd have to ensure the weight was the same for both though, also the force as you lift it and torque as you turn it.
-
You'd also want to include bottled and canned in the blind test, just for fairness.
-
canned
For a split second I was thinking how I would get beer into a can (as in a can used for canned food).
