😈 The Evil Ideas thread

Are you ready to have some of that on your conscience?
It's not on me if they misinterpret my Like.
-
And you didn't originally ask or suggest it, but that is why I used "some" when talking about the responsibility.
-
I'm perfectly happy with that level of responsibility.

I like meta.d
"I would like to spam all my users and drive them away. I want to be the LinkedIn of DiscoSites. Is there a default option for that? TIA."

>as expected people are not visiting the site enough
Something about this choice of words signals high expectations combined with low-self esteem.

Someone actually posted a link to this as a reply:

I couldn't just say 'The Evil ideas Thread is '; it has to actually be in it…

What? Just have a key called
cdata
with string value containing the code and stick that into aneval
.What could possibly go wrong?

The basic idea of the USB drive is quite simple. When we connect it up to the USB port, an inverting DC/DC converter runs and charges capacitors to -110V. When the voltage is reached, the DC/DC is switched off. At the same time, the filed transistor opens. It is used to apply the -110V to signal lines of the USB interface. When the voltage on capacitors increases to -7V, the transistor closes and the DC/DC starts. The loop runs till everything possible is broken down.

In that case...nothing. If sparks could cause harm to an oxygen/acetylene rig, they would be going off all the time. ;)

You mean you are OK with hot things hitting the containers of highly flammable gas and pure oxygen?

Doesn't bother me at all. If they started grinding on the tanks, then I would get nervous...
-

Those "hot" things may have a high temperature, but very low heat content. You often can't even feel them if they hit bare skin.
-
-
I'd write 'Warning - Killer USB' on it and leave it on my desk at the office.
-
If those cylinders were so worn the sparks would set them off, they were about 3 minutes from failing on their own from the pressure anyway.
That said, it wouldn't hurt to re-arrange this guy's work area.
-

Individually, yes. Cumulatively, maybe.
You often can't even feel them if they hit bare skin.
Unlike the sparks from welding. I have pants with holes in them from flying bits of hot, recently molten metal. You mean you are OK with hot things hitting the containers of highly flammable gas and pure oxygen?
The tanks, yeah. I might get a bit concerned about the hoses if that shower of sparks continues to bombard them for a while.

I might be concerned if sparks could harm the hoses I use for my cutting torches. I would buy better hoses...
-
Good point, but I mostly try to keep my hoses out of the way. Also, I hardly ever do any cutting; I tend use mine mostly with this (rather, the Harbor Freight equivalent of it, but I couldn't find that online).
-

WARNING: DO NOT INSERT INTO USB PORT

My point exactly.

It'd also be nice if we could get
I WARNED YOU!
displayed on the screen for the remainder of the computer's life, but that does increase the complexity of the device by an order of magnitude at least...

I once got a colleague to run a forkbomb that way. He was positive he'd be able to log back in as root to kill whatever happened.

forkbomb
Would that be made by the same people who make… actually, y'know what, I'm not going to post SpoonGuard; it was shit when it was fresh, and it's even worse now.
-

I agree.
I was once told by someone that a guy he knew had a split develop in his acetylene tank, and just used the welder to braze that split shut, and nothing bad happened.
If you can get away with that, who cares about a few sparks?
(I know, I know: )

Also, this requires it's own post.
And that post also requires it's own post.

I wonder if there'll be a bot for that.

Don't give them evil ide....
Wait...

That sins like an interesting way to get tempbanned...

…unless they only tried to find bugs in Bot Testing ;)

Can I trust that such a bot would not get abused?
I think not.

You put TLx cooldowns in; I'm sure there could be similar for categories. And to block a category completely, just set it to

Star Citizen client expected to be around 100GB
Eh. Most current-gen games are around 40-45. That's not THAT huge a leap.
I'm kind of curious about Star Citizen, but since so many people backed the Kickstarter and it all sounded like play-to-win ships and items, I wonder if there's a point to just buying the game as a normal user and playing it. Would I just get nuked if I tried to do anywhere and do anything?

They had a black box over their *-hole?
Well, duh. How else would any of that make sense?
