My buddies brew a beer that is 20% ABV. It doesn't taste like it at all. They did it BY ACCIDENT the first time, and have perfected recreating the mistake.
It comes with a safety briefing.

Apparently via a web application this year, instead of a downloadable one.
I've been using H&R Block's web application for about 7 or 8 years now.

Finished a beer, feel a little tipsy. Not usual. Check ABV. 6%.
My go-to beer is ~6%. :-P

You need to adjust your withholdings. It'll never be perfect, but a rebate of several thousand indicates you can do better.
Just did. Never did before because half of it is my employer's fault, and probably a lot of hassle, and the other half is me not ticking a box 7 years ago (or quite possibly the box not being there), and re-filling via the downloadable app was a lot more hassle than via the new web one.

I had always thought struct == C struct, class == Java class, but apparently struct == Java class, class = broken Java class.

You can pretty much grab any C++ codebase and replace
class
withstruct
*, and it will continue function as it did before.*. In the case of
tempate<class T>
, you need to replaceclass
withtypename
for reasons. But the point is, the keywordclass
is completely unnecessary, and was added mostly for marketing reasons. ("Look it's C, but with classes see they're defined asclass
es...")

Good work, Discourse.

Yeah… there's something odd going on when MobileEmoji kicks in and ninjedits the post. Thing is, when I then ninjedit, I change nothing, and it fixes it.

I had always thought struct == C struct, class == Java class, but apparently struct == Java class, class = broken Java class.
struct
==class
except for the default access modifier:struct
is public by default for both members and inheritance (which means it's not like Java either), andclass
is private for both.

One thing that irritates me with discourse:
- It throws toasters at you for normal things that shouldn't really be complained about (all-caps, multiple separate posts for multiple replies, too much talking)
- It throws shaking toasters at you for things that are indeed complainable about (no
topic title, no category ...) - It shows a toaster when you try to make an empty post (this is ok in my book)
- It silently fails - without showing you a toaster - when you edit a post to only contain "?"
-

Wheee, I think I have a non-leaking faucet now!

I messed around a little. And caused that.

Huh? Who? Wha?
-
@PJH? Care to take this one?
-
I just think the whole toaster system is completely wrong in almost every way.
-
There's not even any butter on them!
-
But... you asked for a toaster on that computer site blakey linked to!
Yes, I know, not the same thing, but I was tempted by a chance of a minor troll.
-
Example from Meta.d:
http://puu.sh/gsdru/bfa2b1bc79.png
So default is a 20 character minimum for a post and TDWTF has it lowered to 1 because it's annoying.
-
Also, there's always this to get mad over:
####The invisible cooldown interval for administrative actions.Yes, if you close a topic, closing the next one may silently fail because you did it too quickly.
And the best thing? Your GUI pretends that everything worked perfectly - the lock icon gets added to the topic, the close button changes to an open button, a "this topic is now closed" post appears and so on ... yet the topic doesn't actually close.

The game development industry just got hit by a tidalwave of free: Unity 5, Unreal Engine 4 and Source 2 all give away their flagship product for free now. They're all different brands of 'free,' but who cares? The average game developer certainly won't. Which left us wondering: Are hobbyist-run open source game engines like jMonkeyEngine still relevant?
Was it relevant before?
-
Was it relevant before?
I suppose, if you want to write your game in Java, then yes. But other than for Android (which also allows native apps), I can't think why you would.
-
I suppose, if you want to write your game in Java, then yes.
No. Even then, it is not.

In that case, I'd consider medication and, potentially, talking to those nice men in white coats...

I'd rather have buttered toast than buttered toasters. I suspect buttered toasters might pose a fire hazard.
-
Not quite what I had in mind. But then @aliceif did refer to the toasts as 'toasters', so…
-
Is it?
No, I'm honestly asking. Because I see it used a lot in places where my intuition (and limited education) tells me there shouldn't be one. I am confuse.
Back at work, dug up my Oxford Guide to Style. Chapter 3.7 (Abbreviations and Symbols/Possessives and Plurals), together with chapter 5.2.2 (Punctuation/Plurals) indicate that one should not use the apostrophe here, but rather write 'PMs'.
Chapter 11.26 (Languages/Vogon/Poetry) contains an optimised version of Dwarf Fortress...

What do you mean l'Académie française hasn't banned the word impossible yet, and come up with an implausible alternative? It's clearly an English word....

Default is 20 in posts, 10 in PMs.
And reduced because it was a stupid rule (in toto with all the other stupid rules) to begin with and I wasn't allowed to make it 0.

Why not -1?
