You go, girl!
I do go! But not with the Discodevs; @sam's OK, but @codinghorror's a fuckwit douchebag of the highest order.I should have put a ;) on that other post actually

...is that there is no

defined by the assclowns that defined emoji but Dischorse decides to map it to a different emoji anyway.
That too.

In other words:
- Discourse is doing something wrong by substituting something for a similar-but-not-correct-thing
- EmojiOne is innocent but should really get better artists
- Blakeyrat is being a dick

That too.
Wow, it's almost like I've been saying that this whole goddamned fucking time and some British intersex person was saying it's not a bug at all. Gee whiz!

But, again, everybody in IT has a memory of about 4 nanoseconds, if you're lucky. It's not like any of these morons would actually look at past products and possibly learn from them.
Oh, look, old man yells at cloud.

I believe that is an accurate summation.

…oh, why am I bothering; you won't play along with that anyway ;)

No idea why some of them didn't render
Am I right in thinking it's the same ones in each set that don't render?
-
Well, we did start with the Apple set.
-
Look, whatever, I just want
: (
to show a fucking frown. Whatever you need to do to make that happen, make it happen.
-
Default emoji can be overridden; that's why
is now instead of whatever the EmojiOne thing was
-
Am I right in thinking it's the same ones in each set that don't render?
It appears to be. Probably something in the JS that's not working properly.
For example
:shit:
-apple
:
emoji_one
:
google
:
twitter
:All four have the image, it just isn't rendered or suggested .
-
Is that meant to be shit? Looks more like a happy mound of chocolate icing.
At least the others look like they're supposed to…Also, why is the shit always smiling?
-
Is there any emoji set that isn't awful?
Frankly the ones on here are less distressing than the ones on the other forum I frequent. I think the set they have on TCS are more clear than a lot of the ones here, but they just look wrong. They're face-shaped, instead of circular.
Also the whole palette of them is laid out to choose from when you're in full editor mode, and they look at me.

One has a moustache, the other is frowning.

If this were Community Server, Alex could set up a censor to change

I wonder ...
Could @PJH remove the emojicode thing for:(
?

Hmm…

@PJH could probably upload a custom emoji for

Also blocked at mine too, as it's a dynamic DNS provider.

FTFY
It's not blocked at my work, but that's because I "work" in my mother's basement.
-
whatever you do, do not use the google ones. those things are bad, reaaaaly bad
-
Not blocked at mine because we have some test things that use a dynamic DNS provider. (I don't know if any sites are blocked here, actually)
-
Also, why is the shit always smiling?
It got rid of that asshole it had to hang out with until now.
-

<aside class="quote">http://emojipedia.org/?s=pooA pile of poo that is shaped like a soft-serve ice cream. Brown in color with a friendly smile in most versions of this artwork.

I don't want to eat dessert at your place.
-
Also, why is the shit always smiling?
The google one isn't
Amazing, most of the google emoji are , except for the one.
Edit: Seriously‽ doesn't work now? Sigh … Changed to "hankey"
-
Huh. I finally get around to updating Chrome (by stopping needing some of weirder webapps in other tabs) and it turns out that it's gained the ability to render far more of the emoji. Box no more, sweet browser, box no more.

There is actually a place where I hate smileys more than discourse: Pidgin.
This because it insist on smilifying everything, including stuff like pasted code, and happliy turns "ip:port" into "ip ort".
-
Well, to be fair, MSN used to do that as well.
Speaking of Pidgin, one of the "neat" things is that it's very easy to create own packs. The set some of my friends are using right now:
Before you ask, yes, at least half of it is animated. No, I don't use it. No, I don't know what a third of them are.
Bonus: There might be a familiar looking emoticon in the 9th row...

He has
title=":ʇƚw:"
set up already...I didn't notice. That would've required me to pay attention, and that's a barrier to getting things other than reading this place done as well.
