Warning: WTDWTF will be read-only soonish

Community Server posts are coming!
-
For real this time?
-
Can we filter out all of the ones with Go in them? You can ignore word boundaries.

Here comes the challenger for /t/1000!
-
http://forums.thedailywtf.com/forums/t/13917.aspx has an order of magnitude less posts, unfortunately.
-
well.... second place for all time posts was nice while it lasted...
does that mean we're getting IPv6 support too, while we're at it?
she says with hope in her eyes

But it's the only one that stands a chance! Come on, some optimism here!
-
What if it gets merged with the older SSDS threads? Weren't there 2 or 3 of them?
-

I'll just leave this here:

As mentioned, CS posting was a very different place, number wise.
-
When the import is done, will you merge the bad ideas thread with the bad ideas thread?
-

You're all killjoys. I rate you all as a 4 on @mikeTheLiar scale. Grades are a subject to change.
-
Hmm....probably not. That seems like a lot of posts, though maybe the CS version isn't really that big.
-
I'll just leave this here:
.... so..... is that a yes or a no?
(i've seen that page before. it's how i enabled it on my domain (i'd forgotten to when i created the droplet))
-
Is there no "merge this whole topic with this other topic" button?
-

That's cool, I regularly top out on other of blakeys "Worst of" scales.
-
I'm not in charge, I'm just here for moral support.
-

Oh, I guess there is a "select all." So yeah, we can probably merge the two.
-

I'm stingy with my
flagsgrades.
-

ah. wrong person to ask then.... got it.
@apapadimoulis..... any chance this could happen?
:-D
-
So at this point I should give up trying to read ALL THE THINGS because that's not going to happen with the CS import.

hmmm.... yeah. that's going to be fun to clear my unreads.
changed my settings so i don't auto track topics created more than two weeks ago. hopefully @Ben_lubar is going to make the imported topics older than that.
-
It imports the timestamps, so it should.
-
/me crosses fingers
-
Yes! I totally forgot that @ben_lubar put together concise documentation, so I should be able to have someone at the office help do this. Plus, we can easily snapshot/rollback discourse, so I think it’ll be ok.
I had it in my mind as a big unknown before, and that’s why I kept pushing it back.
-
huzzah! thanks!
i know i want it for a totally selfish reason, but it still makes me happy, and it means that we'll be IPv6 ready! (at least for this subdomain)
:-D

/me runs off to quickly download a backup of her posts, just in case.

So if everything is corrupted, you'll have a history of talking to yourself?

So if everything is corrupted, you'll have a history of talking to yourself?
that and i find it interesting that my first post ever here was:
Excellent Smithers.
Release the hounds.
.
although, now that i think of it i think we already did.
and that it was a good two months after i registered...
neat!
-
The bad ideas thread is that way
Filed under: That is a bad idea
-
The important question is will I be able to agree with whatever Morbs just said?
-
Not unless you reply to Morbs.
And we find another XSS vuln.
-
Also, will there be a loud Parp! after every @PJH post?
-
Oh, right.
So for that, is there a set of child-level instructions that I might be able to follow to enable ipv6? Apologies if you sent me it already.
-
I rate you all as a 4 on @mikeTheLiar scale.
Worst of the worst of the worst of the worst?
-
Worst of the worst of the worst of the worst?
No. it goes up to 10. Well, 11, but there's only one person that can reach that.
-
When the import is done, will you merge the bad ideas thread with the bad ideas thread?
I kind of don't want it anymore.
-
I changed my username when the forum switched (though my account was part of the original user migration). Will the import match that user to me?
-
It does it based on email address as far as I can remember.
-
It's been 10 hours, did this already happen, or is it happening soon, or what?
-
-
hmm.....
gimme over the weekend and i'll have things all written up for you.
/me wanders off to look up how to enable IPV6 in discourse/docker
-
NGINX is already set up for it, shouldn't need to do anything other than DO and DNS.
-
Ah....
Thanks!
@apapadimoulis what DNS provider do you use so I can look up instructions for adding the AAAA record?
-
It's Godaddy, but I'm OK using that. It's basically anything on the command line, having to do with docker or ngix that I have zero experience in.
I do kinda know the "ls" and "cd" commands though.
Also happy to send an ssh key to you if it's easier just to do it or play around with it.
-

read or "read"?
-

Can I get one also...for research purposes? ;-)
-

It imports the timestamps, so it should.
Merging marks the moved posts unread, so I don't think whichever way the two Bad Ideas threads are merged (old->new or new->old) is going to end happily...
