The thread of movie titles and absence of badges. In previous episodes, it was signs you're getting older, chiropractic vs. medicine, atheism vs. Mormonism and religion vs. science with no existentialism nor philosophy thrown in

Yup.
OK, slightly harder one this time.
British film, British lead, made in the 1980s - you'll need this because I'm evil.

Back to the future?

Nope.
@blakeyrat knows this one for sure.
Hint: it's less a clue, more a quote. Couldn't think of anything smarter.
-
Eh...crap...I think I know what movie you're talking about (from discussions here, I haven't seen it)...

Guy Who Uses Guns (For the Last Time)
[this may be too broad, but there's a notable film I'm thinking of...extra bit that isn't really part of the title but might help identify the film]

It's a quote from the opening monologue of Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Is that the film that was once voted the "Worst Film Ever Made"?
-
-
Maybe by an idiot who hasn't seen Manos: The Hands of Fate. Or Monster-A-Go-Go. Both of those are way worse than Plan 9.

Yep, it is in the list:
Mind you, I have not seen the film so I have no idea for myself. I just knew it rang a bell.

Plan 9 is terribly filmed, edited, written, etc. But it's entertaining as hell to watch. (Heck, Tor Johnson alone is like the Tom Hanks of bad movies. That guy's gold.)
Both Monster-A-Go-Go and Manos: The Hands of Fate are also terribly filmed, edited, written, etc. But both of them will also make you want to literally murder the director when you're finished watching. When you finish watching Plan 9, you got a huge smile on your face. Totally different experience.
There's also Hobgoblins, which is actually barely acceptable in most areas (it even features this surprisingly well-done song) except writing. But it's written so badly, that it easily belongs on a worst movie list.
I take objection to that Wikipedia list. Robot Monster is just cheap; it's not bad per-se. (Fire Maidens is terrible, though.)
-
Shit. I knew there was a John Wayne movie I was missing. I get hung up on other movie titles that are somewhat aligned, but wrong. For this one it was "Day of the Jackal".
-
Oh, and "Day of the Jackal" got me thinking about "Leon: The Professional".
Addendum: Which then led me to think about how Natalie Portman was an awkward looking little girl, but damn she grew up to be insanely gorgeous.
Who was I talking with the other day about random trains of thought? Edit: It was @tar.

I missed it the first time, but answered it later.
When posts come in rapid succession, Discourse tends to shit itself I think. Whodathunkit?

Also...you forgot that there was a lot of "calling Chiropractors quacks" and a fair amount of rhetoric about vaccinations along with a bit of philosophy and existentialism and physics.
It's been a wild ride.

Damn. >40 totally legitimate, valid for badges posts gone — poof! I hate you all! </blakeyrant>

It was the film quiz that pushed it over the edge for the UUID. ;)

And why is that not a valid topic for general discussion? Nobody was doing that for the purpose of inflating post counts or abusing the system.

Wasn't there some stuff about feeling old at some point?

As @Boomzilla was going down a more cryptic crossword path I give this:

It's not difficult but I think it follows the classic rules for a cryptic crossword clue.
