Pop-up user card uses wrong username capitalisation
-
Continuing the discussion from The Official Status Ideas Thread (blakeyrat thinks Gunsmoke and Bonanza are funny. We'll agree with him!):
TRWTF is that the user card shows the username with the capitalization used in the @mention (instead of showing the real one)
-
that's weird....
-
And of course the old userbox bug that shows the wrong info is still there
h: that's from clicking on @accalia's mention then the one in the OP.
-
and the truncating after the
is still a thing.

*twitch*
oh they fixed that one...... :-(
-
So, they fixed a Markdown corner case that most would never see, but didn't fix the gajillion usercard bugs all users will see...

IIRC, Jeff was against fixing the markdown one since it's a corner case with other ways to get the output, but we kept complaining until we wore @sam down and he fixed it

Crazy. I'm sure I saw it the other day where it was showing usernames in cards as lower case only but can't replicate it now.
-
You mean this?
-
Yeah, I'm thought it was even when the case was right in the mention, but it may well have been when the mention was lower case. It was a couple of days ago.

In Japanese, you can add six more WTFs.
https://i.imgur.com/jyUQHEv.png
2. Last post is translated as 'The last post ever'. with finality and closure.
3. 'I am a participant.' instead of 'Joined on:'
4. Translating the month.
5. Not translating the date.
6. The more button is larger than everything else.
7. It says '+32. More.' It's probably just Ms. Google T.
-
oh and in jpn you can see the line of my profile after the

-
Interestingly, the HR issue doesn't seem to be present in that screenshot ...
So changing languages makes some display bugs (ones which should not be language dependent) disappear?
Edit: hanzo'd

Not just Japan.
-
I'm not even seeing the
bug - all user cards load correctly, regardless of which order I click them in.

i'm still seeing it on chrome....
interesting.

Looks like the More button has the padding there too... Maybe it's a browser compatibility bug.

See above.
Yep, was using widescreen minimal here too. That explains that.
-
Nevermind - it's the "widscreen + minimal" theme, which is what I've got in my Stylish anyway.
A bit odder is that I used to see the
bug with that enabled, but turning it off makes it come back.
Maybe it's a browser compatibility bug.

Theme = TDWTF Default.
Then
Theme = Widescreen + minimal.
Then
Go figure.
