You see, Ask itself is worthless, but with Bing you get the world's greatest porn search engine.
Kidding aside, most people don't see the Bing prompts anyway because they use Steam and DirectX gets /silent installed

Well, I would've gotten it through Steam, but OBS asked for it before Steam had started up for the first time, so I got DirectX manually rather than waiting for a game to be ready to start.

Yes, but HL1 was built on Quake. They didn't have to add deathmatch.

I got it for free because I had an ATI card a few years ago. NVIDIA also worked before they removed the two "get a bunch of free valve games" offers.
