Sorry, it's reflex.

Status: disappointed that, on youtube, "pepper but" autosuggests "pepper butthold surfers" instead of the band's correct name.

Status: Back from my meeting. Wasn't the shitfuck I feared it would be.
Days since thrown under the bus > 0

Damnit, now I have to use a larger datatype than
uint0_t
to store the number of days since an event.

Feature Request: Onebox support for The Old New Thing.

It’s still on the list! My thoughts are to pick it up after the new site launches.
We’ll set CS to read-only and pick it up from there.

Status: Just used
mysqli_real_escape_string
in a new project. Yes, a new project, not legacy. Yes, procedural version.I don't care. I do what I want.

You're trolling us aren't you?

status: just been offered the job interviewed for yesterday, but at 3k less than I was asking for. It's less generous with pension and benefits than my current employer and would mean relocating. I think I'm going to have to try and negotiate up

That looks like the Windows XP cursor. Is there something you're not telling us?
-
I don't think we can be best friends any more.
I will always treasure the years we've had together.

I'm not telling you a lot of things, but that's not a Windows XP cursor.
Greenshot on Win 8.1.
I just disable cursor shadows, like any normal person.
-
Could've sworn my cursor was antialiased on 8.1.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?
The only one around here allowed to perpetrate PHP WTFs is me because I don't know any better.
-
I'm not liking enough... :-(

Status: Got made redundant today (together with two colleagues). Yay! Now for some hobby projects while the time lasts... does anyone know some good C++ libraries for an AJAX driven forum software? ;-)

I don't think you can legitimately say that last part.
-
There's a reason I continue to program in PHP despite having enough knowledge of other languages to be dangerous.

Right, if it's not better, then why bother?
-
What is it? You're Terri?
-
Pension? Where are there tech jobs with pensions anymore?
-

It is. Also Windows 7 and I'm pretty sure Vista.
He's either using a screenshot program that pastes in its artistic vision of a cursor, or he's using some weird-ass theme.

Status: Got made redundant today (together with two colleagues). Yay!
Yay! Let's start a club! People without jobs only!!!!!
-
-
Really? Are you union also? That's so weird to me.
Even this bloated huge corporate behemoth I've been temporarily working at has a 401k instead of a pension program.
-
Pretty sure @tarunik works for some kind of train company, so they're just behind the times and will be modernizing their pensions as soon as they start to go tits up if they haven't already.

Hah, if only: you would not believe the volume of business we have on our hands. We have both a pension and a 401k here, by the way.
-
Pension? Where are there tech jobs with pensions anymore?
Maybe he means a 401k, or isn't in the US.
-
What is it? You're Terri?
Nah, more that I am only just knowledgeable enough in other languages to be dangerous but I am quite competent in PHP. Make of that what you will.
-

Whatever happened to pink slip parties, btw?
-
Hah, if only: you would not believe the volume of business we have on our hands.
So you have the only well managed defined benefit pension plan in existence?

So you have the only well managed defined benefit pension plan in existence?
We have been around for upwards of 150 years, so I think that should say something about being reasonably well managed for most of our life...

And you've always had the same sort of pension plan? And workers have always had modern lifespans?

Is that where you put your pink slips in a mixing bowl, then everyone pulls one out...nvm.

No, I meant the other sort. This one is nice, but honestly: pink slips? What would you discover next? Hello Kitty socks?
-
Whatever happened to pink slip parties, btw?
I have no idea! I have literally never heard the phrase "pink slip parties" before in my life!
-

Hostess made similar claims.
Then the pension went "poof". Fuck you employees.
-
isn't in the US
Correct. In my country there are laws coming in that mean all employers will have to offer pension schemes. I'm not entirely clear what a 401K is
-

I'm sure we've adjusted our pension plan over the years to keep up with the times.
I'm not entirely clear what a 401K is
It's an investment account that you (and in most cases, your employer, as at least a partial match) contribute to. The name 401(k) comes from the portion of the Internal Revenue Code that deals with 'em, as they have some tax-deferral features built in to avoid double-taxing your retirement nest egg.
