Another attempt at social engineering

I can always turn those into a poll list.

I can always turn those into a poll list.
Great idea. I have the choice between @mikeTheLiar, @mikeTheLiar and @mikeTheLiar?Given Discourse's nanny-state behaviour, I wouldn't be surprised if it refused to create the poll because "all options are identical".
-
I have the choice between @mikeTheLiar, @mikeTheLiar and @mikeTheLiar?
Are you going to switch? @mikeTheGoat

-
Thanks guys, I've just worn a thumb shaped groove down the side of my phone screen.

Funny. The first thing I did after reading that post was trying to find @mikeTheLiar on twitter...

@mikeTheLiar is posting on different handle over there.
I guessed you find him
Also, this is not me.
-
Also, this is not me.
"nag @nagesh Joined March 2007
@nagesh hasn't tweeted yet."Of course that Nagesh isn't you.

# @mikeTheLiar is posting on different handle over there.

Also, <a href="https://twitter.com/Nagesh">this is not me.</a>That is not me. That guy is Pascal Case. Fuck that guy.

I would like this, but Discurse says I've liked too many things today, so I'll have to settle for a +1.
Oops: @mikeTheLiar, @blakeyrat
-
That is not me. That guy is Pascal Case. Fuck that guy.
Obviously. I couldn't detect a single "fuck" in his most recent posts.
-
*sigh*. Disappointing. But I still want that one internet @mikeTheLiar!
-
I am a latecomer to this topic, but on the holy @mikeTheLiar, that internet shall be mine!
-
I've installed this:
[GlowLinks UserStyle][1]and the results look like (the glow pulses in RT):
Crap! NINJA EDIT @mikeTheLiar

-
You know @mikeTheLiar is NOT the Messiah, right? Bestowing special behaviour like that upon @mikeTheLiar is not going to get you into his good books.
-
Obviously. I couldn't detect a single "fuck" in his most recent posts.

You know @mikeTheLiar is NOT the Messiah, right?
Of course he isn't. He's a very naughty boy!
-
Given Discourse's nanny-state behaviour, I wouldn't be surprised if it refused to create the poll because "all options are identical".
Having seen the source for the polls, no. It's not that sophisticated.
Polls are an addition, not part of the core.
-
This attempt to annoy @mikeTheLiar and @blakeyrat seems to be losing steam.
-
Does this work?
Oh, that's interesting.
Source
<kbd>@mikeTheLiar</kbd>
Result
<p> <kbd></kbd> <a class="mention" href="/users/mikeTheLiar">@mikeTheLiar</a> </p>
-
That's clearly a bug.
-
Either that or in violation of the spec.
-
Mentions are not in the markdown spec, @codinghorror I think we should remove them until we can convince John McFarlane to add an extension mechanism for markdown into the spec.
-
Pah. Getting amendments to the spec is the wrong way to do it.
Create a new spec. Then everything's fixed, all bugs closed, job done.
Or, you could possibly use a "standard" that already exists which does have mentions - Github Flavoured Markdown.
-
It seems Pandoc has something resembling @-mentions.
-
So does @mikeTheLiar
-
We can just redefine the current spec to whatever our current behavior is, @sam. Much easier, and who can say we are wrong? That is the advantage of ambiguous specs.
-
who can say we are wrong?
Hey, that is our job! We'll tell you that you're wrong, even when you're right. Or left. Or bend in an other dimension.
Filled under: Writing Specs, you're doing it WRONG
-
I have noticed that you are all losing sight of the goal. I must have that internet!
To get it, I will mention @mikeTheLiar!
-
<kbd> tests
@mikeTheLiar
@mikeTheLiar
why does @mikeTheLiar only half work
-
I proclaim @darkmatter the winner of this thread, and hereby present him one (1) Internet:
I'd like to thank @mikeTheLiar for making this possible.
-
These had better be "Suggested Topics to Necro" posts or I'm rejecting that award.
OH SHIZ @mikeTheLiar I still don't want to lose!
-
These had better be "Suggested Topics to Necro" posts or I'm rejecting that award.
OH SHIZ @mikeTheLiar I still don't want to lose! You can't reject it, you've just forfeited it for failing to mention @mikeTheLiar.
-
Sucker, my @mikeTheLiar was so ninja stealthy you even quoted it.
-
Sucker, my @mikeTheLiar was so ninja stealthy you even quoted it.
Whoa.
-
I saw that @mikeTheLiar you just added. But I was too slow to quote you to catch it.
-
Maybe if I quietly slip in here, @mikeTheLiar will let me have the internet!
-
@mikeTheLiar already promised to me.
-
@mikeTheLiar, did you promise @Arantor my internet?
-
(Mods: please close this topic if there has been no activity for 24 hours)
Per the rules, I believe I won already, by @mikeTheLiar. I just got screwed over because for the first time ever the new board moderators didn't jump in and close the topic as soon as they saw a chance.
-
-
-
I call shenanigans.
I wonder who @mikeTheLiar would vote the winner.
-
@mikeTheLiar would probably pick someone who didn't even post in this topic. Someone like @the_dragon.
-
@mikeTheLiar has left the forums.
-
We haven't seen @mikeTheLiar lately
-
We haven't seen @mikeTheLiar lately
No, we just haven't heard from @mikeTheLiar recently:
He was here within the last 2 hours.
-
@mikeTheLiar is probably just trying to clear out all these damn mentions.
