Yeah, I want to get into it but everything about it is too expensive. It looks interesting but I’m not spending €30 on book one of fifty on the lore.
The memes are brilliant though.

I usually do, just in case I'm unexpectedly on camera, but the bottom half is usually a lot more casual than the top half.

I recall some TV news weather presenters comparing notes about their time in the job. These days they stand beside full-length wall displays in a wide shot that reaches to the studio floor. So they're fully-coutured for the occasion.
Comparing it with the 4:3-aspect-ratio days, they'd only be visible from the waist up in much tighter shots, so they'd just as likely to be wearing jeans or trackpants and sneakers; more comfortable and cheaper.

@DogsB I personally couldn’t give a shit about it either way (apple opening up iMessage, implementing RCS, or doing neither)
That was my stance too until I met my wife for whom sending images and videos through standard text app is so deeply ingrained in her brain that despite my constant pleading and mansplaining, she still sends me sub-potato quality clips on regular basis. So for me, it would be a major QoL improvement, for the dumbest reasons.

I assume that none of the people unironically using that phrase, plus Rust, ever write any code that interfaces with the outside world, such as networking, or the dreaded “unsafe”?
Those things never go wrong, of course…

Who cares if the numbers are right so long as the memory they are represented in is accounted for?
-
@Tsaukpaetra because you might want to put them in some kind of order, and if one of those numbers turns out to be not a number after all, all kinds of things might go wrong.

The researchers traced the keys they compromised to devices that used custom, closed-source SSH implementations that didn’t implement the countermeasures found in OpenSSH and other widely used open source code libraries.
-
@HardwareGeek The article is rather confused and I wasn't sure whether they mean the openssh implementation is vulnerable despite the counter-measures or it's a bunch of special ones that are and I missed that statement. So that clears it up.
Turns out to be a textbook case of a Three of Tampering:

From what they announced, it's a metro system (slower fast travel), a portable radio, and a few new cars. And some rebalanced boss fights. Not sure which one of those count as hotly anticipated gameplay elements.

@DogsB I am actually curious about this too. Not just for Spotify, but for a whole pile of different companies. I wish they'd specify what areas those people are from...
The article mentions a different round with 600 lay-offs total, 200 of them in the "pod casting division". That's a bit more specific, at least for the 200, but I still wonder what those 200 did.
I dunno if this is valid, but from my observations around the recent layoffs, it hasn't affected core engineering staff very much. At least among the people I know, it's definitively been more of the people working on peripheral stuff.

The new motorcycle handling and motorcycles, together with the car races and the metro are the most asked for things.

Unfortunately, you can only replace one of your cars with Tommyboyo, or one of the start NPCs's head.
But I suppose you could always request a mod.

Apparently Undertale has a 1000-case switch statement. Cue Reddit folks being, well, Reddit folks about the implications which half then clearly don’t understand properly.
No one cares that it’s a 1000 case switch statement, it works, it’s clearly not a performance bottleneck or, apparently a maintenance one, and the guy shipped it and the universe is better for it.

I gather it’s for finding dialogue rather than actual state tracking, and I suspect a function of whatever language it’s written in rather than because this was the best architectural choice.
