It's one of those sci-fi monitors. You know, the ones that pop up right in front of your face while you wildly swing your arms to control it? Obviously they're transparent, so this is just the first generation - it's still transparent, it just can't float on its own yet.

@dcon Looks like a normal Monitor Defense Arm to me. And it's working, the attacker is held helplessly at bay.
-
-
@dcon why should they have it any better than us?
-
@LaoC The first is a bit confusing, but I don't see any conflict there: normally the left is a cycling track and the right does not allow bikes, but because there is work on the left road, the cycling track was temporarily moved to the right and the no cycling sign is properly crossed out. It's just the middle sign is a bit confusing, but it apparently applies to the right road.
-
… just an hour ago I drove through a place marked as no entry between 7:30 and 9:30 except something, with all the four or so signs crossed out with similar masking tape. And there wasn't even any roadworks or anything, it's just seems the city council can't make up their mind whether they want to make it bus-exclusive during the rush hour or not (it is a detour towards downtown for when the main road gets jammed, but this one obviously quickly gets jammed too).

A pro-China Facebook group member posting image, asking why he can't see Cockroaches (that's how the pro-China groups call supporters of protestors) mourning for the queen.
Obviously, they can't read English, and don't read maps.

The blue sign says you must use this way as a cyclist—if you're going where the bike lane goes. I suppose they wanted to say "don't go left, go right instead", but with the bike route signs still pointing left and no prohibition, what they're actually saying is "the bike route goes left, take it if you want, you're not obliged to, but you can also go right go right go right, and take care with oncoming traffic and don't forget oncoming traffic!"
-
@LaoC The only thing I see still pointing left is the blurred navigation signs. And the vertical sign overrides the arrow on the ground—just hope that it is marked appropriately from the other side as well.
-
It sure do seem that signs and traffic and vehicle operation in general have developed a whole buncha ways to do them that are the opposite of the way they should be done. I wonder if there's a way to say this more concisely.

I can't say for sure because the photo is just a little too but it looks like the crossed-out signs are all permanently set into the ground, and the middle and right cycle lane signs are temporary ones of the "something-heavy-with-a-pole-sticking-out" variety.

@Watson Yes, that's exactly correct.

Not technically correct, which is the best kind, but still a good kind of correct.

Ah nice, looks like Visual Studio finally acquired a "Kill it with fire" button. Maybe "nuke it from orbit" will make it into the next release.
(Tool tip says 'hot reload' but my interpretation is much better.)

'hot reload'
It's great, especially for those with a taste for gambling - sometimes it works and sometimes it kills your debugging session.

Because of extreme levels of self loathing that stem from your disfunctional social persona. And because computers don't talk back and are more honest than humans. And because you are naive and you don't know what you are getting yourself into. And because you wrongly think that insanity is worth the money. I don't know.

Sounds like working with React and its hot reloading.

It does. There were a lot of design challenges in the way of open-blowback actions, and the breech still being hot enough to fire the next round without the pin striking was among them.

The Insane Clown Posse of graphics cards. If anything watch the part about Palit. (17:40)

@Rhywden I fully expected them to go "fuck it, we're doing 5 fans" this time.

Well, the type is supposed to not be ever instantiable, but was. It would be better to have a proper bottom (
⟂
), but C++ doesn't have that.

Thanks to modern technolgy for preserving species, this ark won't need to take a couple of each species of animals on board, now an egg and a sperm will be enough.
