The Unofficial Colin Furze Fan Thread

Continuing the discussion from Trufuel WTF (not technology related):
It is this!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQf5cGPcP48I think the brill
iant guy bloody well deserves his own thread. So here it is, starting with his sixth episode of Furze's Invention Show, featuring the bread-toasting knife:
-
He's too shouty for me.
-
-
Meanwhile in England...
Is it a burglar, a chimney sweep or Batman having a bad day?
No, it's Colin Furze and his immaculately explicit product placement:
-
Cross-topic-posting a reply:
Colin Furze proving he can do it better (with some more product placement at the end):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVzn1pl4nlo
Also slightly more dangerous, but at least it won't tear your hair out.
-
You know what would be fucking amazing?
IF HE DIDN'T PUT STUPID MUSIC IN THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I came to watch the video, I don't want to listen to stupid fucking annoying shitty music instead! WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON PUTTING MUSIC IN ALL OF THEIR VIDEOS? I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE FUCKING FIREWORKS!!
-
I like the music he uses.
-
I don't, and I really wish people would stop putting music in every video that isn't about music. I don't come to listen to the stupid damn music, I want to hear what you're talking about, or your car, or a gun, or a game, or literally anything else other than your favorite song.
I don't care if they have my favorite song in the video, unless I looked up "my favorite song music video," I don't want to hear any fucking music in your damn video.
-
But I like the music he uses.
-
I am going to find the band that is responsible for that atrocity of a song and strap them to 300 rockets and launch them into space so they can never perform that song again. Following that, I am going to send out assassins to kill any cover bands that try and play the song. The song shall die.

Did anyone tell the guy what his name means in German?
-
Maybe that's where he got this idea from:
-
Awww, I didn't spot this earlier so I was too late to get this posted before Xmas. Seems even Jamie Oliver was impressed with the Turkey cooking machine:

Filed under: Trigger warning: more rock music
-
I did not expect that to work as well as it did.
-
Trust him, he
iswas a plumber.
-
huhuhu that was amazing. They should make use of this in a steampunk movie.
I did not get it though, why centrifuge helps keeping in the juices?
-
why centrifuge helps keeping in the juices?
The centrifuge doesn't help keep the juices in; it's basically just a rotisserie spinning much too fast. It's juicy because he's essentially stewing it, pumping boiling water (which eventually becomes broth) through it from the inside.
-
I've been seeing so many emoji's lately that I though to check what Colin has been doing.
Well there's been the whole fireworks job he promised turning your plain old 13-a-dozen field into a warzone:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY5Wzjk0-Xs
Then there's the time he's trying to set himself on fire:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMDLaQD8yAU
Seems fitting.
-
Quite impressed with the Thermite Kettle.

@JBert said:the time he's trying to set himself on fire
That's about half the time, by my reckoning.

Had to smile at this slightly older gizmo. Seems not too powerful, though it can shoot your socks off:

But not any more...

I saw a comment in the previous video someone suggesting this, and thought hmm that sounds like a good idea. And now here it goes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSbI5_75BlM
Should recommend some of the ideas from "Bad Ideas" thread to this guy

I guess he'd turn them into "dangerously awesome ideas".
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2seXZcx-0W8
Am I the only one who watched this and looked for the link to the source code he mentioned?
-
@dse Possibly, yes. I saw the short listing of code in the video and I guess it just waits for a button press, then sleeps some bits while triggering the solenoid valve in between.
Nothing which couldn't be done with a $20 Arduino micro rather than that Intel dev board. Unless I'm wrong about the program of course.
-
@JBert He's obviously using that board because of the sponsorship. No big deal.
-
@dkf I know about the sponsorship, just a few video releases ago he was wearing an Intel "monolith" costume (I'm still chuckling with "ha, I'm inside Intel!") and it shows in all his videos ever since.
Point is that the code likely amounts to nothing.

he's a plumber, not a programmer....
but i have plans for his flamethrowing guitar..... oh i have plans for it

He basically said as much.

I would like to see a longer version of the video
-
@dse No musical ability. Fine as a drummer.
-
-
After seeing @dkf's post I thought I'd better check what's going on.
This one could just as well go in the good ideas thread: (well, apart from airport security checks that is)

@dse said in The Unofficial Colin Furze Fan Thread:
Just keep a spare battery available if leaving it out of the hangar in winter:

Also, he built a 1:1 "scale" project this year:

His usage of propane burners to light all the fuses is pretty ingenious. I would have likely overcomplicated it by using electric matches. Of course, my solution would not have burned off most of the sticks and sending most of the rockets off in random directions to start fires. But his method looked like more fun and more impressive looking.

So about those fires in the UK, I wonder what could have possibly started it...
Also, did you get how that rocket sliding on the rope could have lit the bunch or could that just have been recorded before and cut in for extra effect?

Not sure. I am watching this now:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=intFcQuXcyA
I am going to assume he explains it in there, but I have not gotten that far yet.
-
-
@polygeekery I'll check it out, meanwhile I was watching more drone footage where you can see it going in and blowing it up:
https://youtu.be/_tOnx-09M4c?t=290
EDIT: Also, that single continous shot shows that it doesn't take that the fireworks obviously don't take long when you set them all off at once.

After watching it (admittedly while doing other things so I may have missed it) it appears that the rocket was just for dramatic effect. The rockets themselves were actually lit off with a flame chucker and I do not think the rocket triggered it or anything.

That fact that Furze is still alive AND has all his limbs still attached is one of the greatest mysteries of life.

What are you talking about?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsXWspo5hrc
Oh, yeah, good point.
-
@polygeekery That thing was crazy fast but at least it was somewhat stable. The one he did on a bike was likely worse.
He did have a more odd project last summer / fall which might be more up @weng's alley of crazy cars though:
