I can't remember all the shows I was disappointed that they cancelled.
Dead Like Me
The Witch Blade
are the only ones that come to mind. Not Firefly? That one always makes these lists. I want to add "Drive" to the list, canceled by Fox after just four episodes, and "Legend", which kept Richard Dean Anderson occupied for one season between MacGyver and Stargate SG-1.
The latter was on the UPN network which canceled its entire first year of programming with the sole exception of Star Trek: Voyager. "Legend" also may have fallen victim to a huge fire at the Old Tucson Studios that would have required either shuting down production or relocating filming anyway.
I knew Firefly would be mentioned but I never watched it. And if it has only one season why bother. I like a long term commitment with my Netflix bingeing.
I was never into Star Trek and the others I've never seen.

I remember losing interest right around second episode. So good call, Fox

I was offered sex today with a 26 year old woman. In exchange she wanted me to advertise some bathroom cleaner on TDWTF.
Of course I declined because of my strong morals and willpower. Which is just as strong as Ajax, the super strong bathroom cleaner. Now available in scented lemon or vanilla.
She contacted me again and offered me sex to tell the good people here that Ajax is only $0.97 on Amazon right now, which of course I refused. Because as you might remember, my strong morals, which are even stronger than Ajax's cleaning power, which can now be yours for the low low price of $0.97.

Not really anything specific to HOI here… great video regardless.

@LaoC I was making a code generation thingy once. At times I really hated the "keywords cannot be used as variable names" rule. This thing is a class, what else should I call it but
class
? That thing is a type, why can't I call ittype
? This variable literally holds a variable, let me call itvar
. I have this enumeration of possible value types. and yes I really want them to bestring
,int
andfloat
. And so on.

@
orr#
or whatever introduces a raw identifier shouldn't be a big deal.

_
or something, works as well and is no more typing either.
For generated code that is, not for your FFI problem where decoration of external symbol names is important.

I know but I'm forbidden from using Rust at work.
For generated code
It wasn't generated code. It was the code of the generator.

It's not the only language that has them though. I first saw them in C#.

Yeah, then it's probably easier to simply add the TrailingUnderscoreOfShame.

@topspin Somehow, having a block of cheese for a head actually makes him look more human than having his own, (purportedly) human head.

@boomzilla when I googled the name, I thought of making a joke about how I pollute my search history with random, potentially dangerous phrases, and wonder whose watch list I end up on today. Anyway, the result was that women are niggers of the world.
