RPG: The End War (OOC thread)

So yeah, wisdom as my dump stat means I'm not going to be noticing much...
-
@Jaloopa Wasn't that a natural 1, meaning you're allowed a reroll for halfling luck?
-
@PleegWat Oh yeah
-
I just read Bob's bio.
Even when mother isn't around, he still habitually listens to everybody and uncritically follows their commands. This got him in trouble more than once.
That's useful info. I'm guessing that, while he might not obey commands from prisoners, if voices in his head gave him commands, he'd obey them, too.
-
Totally worth it...
-
Just for the record, the bot's dice notation can account for halfling luck with the
r
(reroll) operator.@dmbot roll 1d20r1-1
-
-
@Jaloopa can't escape destiny.
Also it would be nice if people explained why rerolls happen.

@Mason_Wheeler I never did get an answer to my question (at least I think I asked it, but maybe it was just in my head, and to scroll back and check my previous posts) how long we were in the army together before the events of the first post in the game (i.e., being arrested). How well do we know each other? Obviously, I think, we were together long enough for Panapos's reputation as a prankster to be well-known.

Hence why I mentioned:
If she could play the greaseball right, the rock probably wouldn't even matter.

@Gąska DMBot doesn't show individual die results, so determining if you're eligible manually will be tricky in complicated rolls.
@DMBot roll 1d20 + 3 with advantage
-
@PleegWat
Huh?
-
@DMBot roll 1d20 + 3 with advantage
-
-
@error_bot 1d20 + 3 with advantage
-
Bot doesn't like spaces.

@Mason_Wheeler feature request.
-
@DMBot roll 1d20+3 with advantage
-
@PleegWat
19 (19, 4)
-
If we're doing feature requests, I'd like the pre adjustment rolls to be shown. Something like
Roll 1d20+4
8(4 +4)
-
@Jaloopa Since we can't (and it doesn't sound like that's going to change) see you character sheet, would you mind filling in your bio page? You have a picture, which is cool, but info about your character. I don't even know what race and class you are.
-
@HardwareGeek Thanks for reminding me. I've been out all day, just got back. It's all up now.
@PleegWat, since we're both rogues we can communicate in secret in thieves' cant. Of course, we can also do the same with halfling since we're the only ones who know it
-
@Jaloopa Thanks. I had your page open, and the edit showed up without even having to refresh the page (unlike certain forum software).

Thieves' cant has the advantage that it's not obvious we're exchanging a secret message. Also we're more likely to want to hide message from our enemies rather than our friends, and they might know thieves' cant, halfling, or both.
-
Wait, we have two lightfoot halfling rogues? At least they're different genders to tell them apart.
-
Combat encounter WOO!
-
@Gąska We also have different alignment, different background, and I'm pretty sure @Jaloopa is not planning the same rogue archetype I am.
-
@PleegWat I need some mental picture of you two or else I'll keep confusing who did what.
-
My initial character inspiration was Nobby Nobbs from the Discworld. Not a bad person, but views on property rights that essentially boil down to "if somebody else has it and I want it, that's a problem I know how to solve"
-
@Gąska Given that I just pent the last 10 minutes setting up a Dramatis Personae on my google sheet, I won't contest that.

Jaloopa's halfling is easily mistaken for a monkey.
-
@Gribnit racist
-
-
@Gribnit that's our word!

This has also made it clear to me I don't know what race one of the guys with us in the cage-cart is, and I had to make an educated guess for two of the classes.
-
Okay, so on Roll20, I see the characters set up but I don't see anyone labeled except for Bob. What do other players see? I believe we should see every party member's name?

This is your first deployment together; it's been a few weeks, coming up on a month soon...
-
Also, I'm incredibly curious about that dead guy in the middle.
-
@Gąska Mason's pretty actively working on it, so I'm not making assumptions from the battlefield till he announces the actual battle.
-
Ship it

Yeah, but it was kind of weird, I was worried there's some permission problem in the that makes each person see something different. But whatever it was, seems fixed now.
-
Just waiting on @Vault_Dweller to respond before things get started.
-
@Gąska Panapos Namfoodle Gerbo Warryn Luckyhelm Oneshoe Scheppen could do with a shorter display name.
-
@Mason_Wheeler Feel free to use just my first name or one of my nicknames. Gnomes like names and have a lot of them, but we don't necessarily use all of them in every encounter.
-
-
@Mason_Wheeler Do we need to roll initiative?
-
@PleegWat we need to wait for @Vault_Dweller.

On the map? Yeah, I see only my own character's name.
-
@PleegWat As everyone has guessed, (because I don't know the trick yet of setting up a combat map out of view of the players,) it's about to start a combat scene. Waiting on @Vault_Dweller because the results of his perception check will affect how the setup unfolds...
