How often do YOU copy from StackOverflow? Let's find out

@Gąska It gets more interesting if you click "Learn more" because this modal dialog pops up:
Clicking "More details" then even gives you the full sales pitch:
It looks like they actually stored the number of times those popups showed up and now run some statistics on it:
Bonus:
UPDATE: There has been a lot of interest in purchasing a real life version of our prank. The good news is we anticipated this might happen and we’ve been working on something along these lines. Stay tuned for more!

Once. It was the regex for mobile phone user agent. Fucking impossible to work out manually.

Are they filtering out all the times someone copies skit off of their pile of horribleness to search for it to get better information? Because that's what I do when I copy stuff there.

Liar. You tick off all the other boxes of a typical webdev, I don't believe you don't tick off this one as well.

The code I see posted on the site physically sickens me. I've copied algorithms, by rewriting the code, but copying it directly is out of the question. When I've asked questions on the site, it's always been a high level "how can I get around this obstacle/achieve this goal," and, as such, usually my questions get closed with prejudice rather than answered.
-
@error you need to get more specific. relate your question to how to write a program to cook an athletic shoe.

My first thought when I read "typical webdev" is "incompetent hack" (), and he doesn't tick that.
-
@topspin have you seen his code?

Thank you.

Yeah, even the spaces are wrong.
But no, not up close.

I've even got eslint configured to bitch at you if you don't follow my style.

It is almost certainly outdated. New models are released practically weekly.

Yeah, I tried to convince PHB that sniffing for known devices was the wrong approach, and we should go based on a media query or device dimensions, but it fell on deaf ears.
-
@error wrong approach. what you do is, change the sniff from
static
tobehavioral
. which is, replacing it with media queries BUT you make a useless convenience function to make it look like it amounts to a sniff.

I didn't look at the context and for a moment I thought I'm in COVID thread.

@Gąska Could be worse; for a moment I read that as
You
ticklick off all the other boxesand thought it was a lifestyle thing.

Someone on Etsy is probably already 3d Printing these and selling them
