@DogsB So, two pieces of technology in the house?
Guns tend to be more reliable than printers, so I’m told.
-
@Arantor The only thing in a printer that’s reliable by the standards of other technology, is the gadget that checks ink levels.
-
@Gurth Um, "reliable" ... You can be sure that it won't report higher ink level than it is, but the other way round....
-
@Gurth it can reliably underestimate the amount of ink you have, and reliably determine that you can’t print black when you’re short on cyan. Anything else is suspect.

Exactly. It’s the part that the manufacturer really wants to have working as designed. Everything else … who cares?
-
@Gurth That and the ink cartridge authenticity detection. Can't let the customers use low-
costquality ink from a different supplier.

Also, I was disappointed that he never showed the computer side of the connection. What physical connector is
LPT1:
on a modern computer?

Not kink-shaming, but this is Tsaukpaetra-class.Wow, a 1250; I never saw one of those back in the day. I had an 803, then moved to a 24-pin Epson and one of the ubiquitous Cardco printer interfaces.
