I actually have no idea who he is, but (the younger part of) the internet is sad he died so young.

Anyone else hear the giant sucking sound?
Now you know.

Not dead yet, but she's unable to breathe on her own, has been taken off of life support, and has a "do not resuscitate" order in place, so it won't be long:

The replies are absolutely amazing, I was convinced it was a Poe but he seems to be serious.

Isn't there a movie in which an actor takes the place of a missing or dead head of state? In fact, I think there are several.

The one about worn out keys made me look at my keyboard. It's a really cheap one so the keys wear out extremely quickly, but still some more than others. W, S, D, C, V, period/greater-than, LCtrl, and all arrows except right are completely gone. A, Z, X, B, L, comma/less-than, LWin, LShift, and right arrow are halfway through. M and P have some slight defects. All other keys are in perfect or near-perfect condition.
Of course some of those is random variation in production quality, but almost every worn key has a strong connection to one of my computer usage habits. A great trigger for some self-reflection.
-
This one is gold:
Sure, maybe it helps in startup phase - but it sounds like a sure way to stay in startup phase for the entire lifetime of the business (which won't be long).

Blast, I shouldn't have bought a keyboard where the legends can't wear off. My entire career ruined!

No, they should be, but too often they're not.

There are developers with a greater than average productivity, and having a few of those can certainly be key to field the first version. Especially compared to the idjits with negative productivity...
But that list is really dumb.

I want this on a laptop. I very quickly wear the matte finish off of keyboards and then the glossiness makes them appear oily when they are not. I hate it so, so much.

@Karla He was a Youtube guy, kind of on the amateur science/DIY side, but with a wide variety of topics. He had some legal trouble related to some explosives; apparently he didn't clear everything with the authorities as well as he thought he had, and I think he pretty much retired from Youtube at that point, leaving some other hosts to make videos on the channel.
He died from a paragliding accident:

Just have to wait for @ben_lubar to redeploy. Maybe it's time to go from 1.12.0 to 1.12.2.

@boomzilla While we're at it, someone less

In my fantasy world he had a kill switch set up...in the case of his death...the flood gates of his evidence against others is released every where.

I wonder how many real-world kill switches there ever were. It's a common spy-movie trope, but does it happen in reality? Of course like most blackmail things, most cases would stay secret forever, but still...
I can remember one case in France of a guy who released a posthumous video tape incriminating politicians in some bribery scandals, but AFAIR this wasn't really a "kill switch" in that the guy never threaten anyone about it and died naturally and more than likely decided to leave that as a shit bomb after his death, more than as insurance against being murdered.
-
@remi I recall a recent story about an Arabian princess escaping successfully, with a note about a different princess who'd set up a testimony on youtube to release a few days after she'd made the attempt.
