@The_Quiet_One I am surprised that VB is so low on the list.

I thought it was based on popularity as a rating of comments count.
-
@Unperverted-Vixen People who have to use VB don't want to talk about it?
-
@The_Quiet_One I would like to see a normalised list, based on the total number of times a given language gets mentioned, instead of the total comments.
-
@Vault_Dweller I think that's what "/ 10000 comments" implies.
What could be more interesting is comments containing both words (e.g. "PHP" and "shit"), regardless of subreddit.

They must have good moderation.
-
@kazitor I interpreted it as "total comments" due to the list roughly being sorted by popularity, but you are probably correct.
-
@The_Quiet_One
I'm mildly surprised that /r/php is still under 2% of comments with the words fuck or shit
-
I'm surprised the ratio of curse words to PHP comments isn't > 1.
-
@HardwareGeek Depending on whether you'd count simple character replacements like $ for 's', I could see how PHP would really throw things off even more... like code referencing variables named $hit.

I think the message here is clear. Despite the snobbish posturing of most programmers, VB.Net is the best general purpose language.
-
@chozang But what if... everyone who hates VB (so, everyone) takes to the PHP subreddit to complain about it?

...Perl doesn’t have any shit|fuck etc entries, therefore it “wins”...
EDIT: Fuck, 1/2 bottle of Windsor makes for difficult reading...
