But there's nothing close to unanimity on anything.
And that's by design. They somehow managed to get us divided into two groups, each of which thinks the other is responsible for everything that's fucked up.

Yes... I took the topic name literally.
I considered this, but it seemed to obvious. Glad someone else picked up the torch.

The sad part is, I'd been waiting to do that all week.

How is it that you can theoretically earn "first flag" multiple times, @pjh?
Looking at the query, you can't - it's the min(pa.id) bit:
For those tagging along:
SELECT pa1.user_id, pa1.created_at granted_at, pa1.post_id FROM ( SELECT pa.user_id, min(pa.id) id FROM post_actions pa JOIN badge_posts p on p.id = pa.post_id WHERE post_action_type_id IN (3,4,7,8) AND (:backfill OR pa.post_id IN (:post_ids) ) GROUP BY pa.user_id ) x JOIN post_actions pa1 on pa1.id = x.id
[postgres@lenovo ~]$ sql_tdwtf post_actions # List post action types SELECT id, name_key as Action, is_flag as flag FROM post_action_types ORDER BY id asc id | action | flag ----+-------------------+------ 1 | bookmark | f 2 | like | f 3 | off_topic | t 4 | inappropriate | t 5 | vote | f 6 | notify_user | t 7 | notify_moderators | t 8 | spam | t (8 rows) Elapsed: 0.022s Backup taken: 2014-10-09 07:30:24.877034

I was thinking of posting Gregorian chant next... that would be cruel to most people here, but decided to do it anyway.
Like. FTFM. Please.
If you don't, I'll have to do it later, after work.
-
if you insist.

Looking at the query, you can't
Derp. I went back and looked at the badge page. Somehow I thought the X meant "can be" not "can't be."
I demand the icons be reworked to accommodate my dysgraphia.
-
-
Doesn't that technically belong in the other thread?
-
It's a song and it's the one I'm posting today so deal with it. Posting location is arbitrary like everything else here.

It's like herding cats or foxes or Furries around here.
Actually I have no idea how hard it is to herd Furries.

Worse. It's like herding creative anarchists.

It makes up for the one day he posted TWO songs.
-

it's easier than herding the
FuriesKindly Ones or Furbies.:-P

good catch, thanks!

Actually I have no idea how hard it is to herd Furries.
I suppose it depends on how many of the Furries think "herd" is some kind of sexual euphemism.

Furbies.
NO FURBIES. Dear BELGIUM can't this not be declared as a Furby Free Zone or something.

Somewhere around 1988 - 1989, they was abducted and replaced with some kind of evil lookalikes
I never bought a Metallica album personally, but I think I know the precise date of that occurrence:

Like even dem blinken lights. Enough that I subscribed to the guy's channel. Thanks, @LurkerAbove.
If you like that, you'll probably like Andy Fillebrown's stuff too: https://www.youtube.com/user/audiosculptures

That's sweet @fatbull Thanks for posting. Will be checking out more of those two. It might be Christmas present for someone.
Edit: So how is one supposed to link to the post in the other thread without quoting?
-
Great indie/ambiental rock.
Makes me think of a cross between Jane's Addiction and U2. Jane's Addiction are great but I'm not keen on U2 so only half a like, which I round down.
-
You can click
reply to
in the other thread and then go to this topic, write the content and post here.
-
Ta Alice. That's what I did and didn't link (as you can see). Tried the other option (the choice of this or other it gives you) and it appeared in the other thread (predictably).
I think I might have discovered a bug in Discourse. This is unheard of right?
-
I'll try something, one sec.
-
Weird. It used to work, I'm sure.
But yeah, It doesn't!

Oh wait, I see it now. They only mention the fact that you replied to something in another topic to the right of the post.
How USER-FRIENDLY, EASY-TO-SEE and DISCOverable. They should add the arrows back, at least.

Mine was to @fatbull's video of Ballake Sissoko & Vincent Segal. As you can see there's no indication there that there's a reply to it. (The deleted post in that thread is my attempt with the other option.)
-
This is a reply to @aliceif's testing thread.
I don't have high hopes for this.
-
This is testing replying to my comment in the reply testing thread
Choosing the second, non-default answer (reply in The officious song of the day....) as before.
-
this could get confusing......
-
Record all the things into a single track and post it to YouTube!
-
hmm... an idea. mux all the songs posted in the song fo the day thread together and play them all at once.
there's no way that could end poorly.
-
Indeed!
-
hmm... i have SoX, and i can download the youtube videos easily enough. and i do have the day off tomorrow (it's apparently a holliday of some sort, except i didn't notice it on the calendar, it was about noon on friday when someone mentioned to me that there was no work monday; so none of my usual holliday plans)

Wasn't there a video of someone who had done that with two tracks by a band (one to the left, one to the right) and which merely served to show that the band only knows 4 chords and one pattern in which to use them? Even things like the crescendos happened at virtually the same time. Running them at the same time actually made things more interesting, like a medium complicated fugue…
Naturally, I can't find this. Because Discosearch.

Yes. I couldn't find them because I couldn't remember them. Obviously.

If you were at all consuming oxygen in 1998, you probably remember Fastball's "The Way".
I remember one of those things.
-
I would like to say that the Test Drive 5 OST was the best video game soundtrack ever.
-
Not sure I'd agree. I liked the sound tracks of Jet Set Radio Future, Brütal Legend and (much of) Saints Row 2. Those three games, though very different in terms of music, all do a really good job of it. I suppose it helps that they largely avoid the dross that is music composed and performed specially for a particular game.
-
Good grief, I've just discovered a MLP electro swing song.
Life never stops surprising.
-
-
That's the one which I'd definitely pick for my song of the day, even though some of the other tracks have been pretty good too.

I remember actually googling all these obscure references of moral degredation from the 20-ies. Hillarious.
The whole Fallout 3 soundtrack is so full of win. My favs:
Andrews Sisters & Danny Kaye - Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo) 1948 – 03:06
— ScrambledEggs1969https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IqORm1uKN0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir1A74UA2YE

I could listen to this shit for hours. And I did.
-
BTW some pretty good picks today.
-
It is an inspired choice of soundtrack
I was tempted to post
Monty Python - Anything Goes – 00:44
— mrlambru
instead but thought better of it
-
hmm... i need to rewatch flying circus it seems.
i don't remember that sketch
