🖎 The officious song of the day comment thread!

The whole Fallout 3 soundtrack is so full of win.
A simple like is insufficient for this!Is it just me, or does Bob Crosby sound remarkably like his older brother?
-
I was tempted to post Monty Python - Anything Goesinstead but thought better of it
Um, Discurse formatted that quote ... interestingly; the video turned into text.Anyway, thank you for posting the Cole Porter "Anything Goes." As much as I like MP, musically it's just not quite the same. :)

This thread is showing me some pretty good music. Thanks @cartman82.
-
If you want more from 4hero, I recommend the album "Creating Patterns" from 2001. They hit the sweet spot there. Earlier stuff is too drum&bass-y, later stuff is too sugary.
-
It's near the end of the series.
-
i need to rewatch flying circus it seems.
i don't remember that sketch
I envy you. Oh to forget them all and be able watch them as if for the first time.
It was series 4, which is probably the least memorable of them because of no John Cleese but still damn good imo.
-
musically it's just not quite the same.
Yeah, something tells me that wasn't one of Eric Idle's compositions.

Cool cover. I've never heard of Helloween but it sounds like I'd like them.
I wanted to quote the post so the video's included but Discourse's diaper is currently overflowing and things are not working.

I find that the heavy rock/metal covers of 80s-ish songs are generally pretty good.
Dope - Rebel Yell ( No Regrets ) + Lyrics – 04:06

Yeah, but the farther from metal the original song is, and the closer the cover somehow manages to stay to the original the better.
Disturbed does a great metallic cover of Genesis' Land of Confusion.

Acid Drinkers - Hit the road Jack – 02:27
— CebittoOh, they also did those two. Be sure to listen to them past ~2 minute mark.

Where do you stand on this?
Rammstein - Stripped (official video) – 03:56

Not really anywhere, since I don't have speakers at work.
-
Disclosure: I'm a huge Billy Idol fan
The Children of Bodom cover of Rebel Yell sounds almost exactly like the original, apart from the guitar solo towards the end. I prefer cover versions that something different with the song and, for me, this didn't.
The Dope cover of Rebel Yell is also pretty similar but at least tries to have a slightly different guitar sound to the original. Once again, I can see anything to recommend this over the original.
-
Yeah, I definitely like the Dope version better.
Green Jellö - Anarchy In Bedrock (Anarchy in the UK parody) – 03:27

I hate that song
...is the obvious joke one would make.

I can't not laugh at this one (as I enjoy the hell out of it):

Nice, I'm wearing my Black Sabbath shirt today.
-
-
Wow.
-
I've seen that a couple times but don't have a reliable repro.
-
Nice!
-
Quote yourself from the song thread, and reply to this topic. You'll see it, I just tried again and got a repro.
-
Oh, yours is only in the preview. I meant I'd seen it on live posts a couple times.

Bastard!
I was actually playing this in the background, trying to catch up so I can post today's pick. About 20 minutes in: "Hmm, this part sounds.... strangely familiar... Wait, how long has this been going on?"
You should be ashamed of yourself.
-
I almost posted the single play video, then saw that one.

Liked for music, disliked for lyrics.
They're bad enough that I can't ignore them.Meanwhile, have a Discourse bug (not exactly an expensive gift):

Re: this video:
Evil Bee Menomena – 04:21
— zindabadaThe song is merely meh. But that video is amazing.
-
Thanks for calling my attention.
I'm only listening to the songs in a background tab and I would have missed it.

I love watching that guy play.He always looks like he's having so much fun, which is a nice change from the usual facial expressions of people who play music in this style.

Who doesn't love Lindsey Stirling?

There's nothing wrong with melodic dubstep.

There, of course, is the difference, most of it isn't.

only those that havent heard her work before.
And the two douchebags in the corner that are so hipster they only liked her before everyone else did.
