@spectateswamp That doesn't answer my question. Why do you call them Sky Creatures?

They're clearly not Underground Creatures, so what else could he call them?

What if they're burrowing owls ? Huh, what then?!?
-
@spectateswamp Dang I needed that boost.
I won't be asking for votes.. I'll tell them who I don't want votes from.
The Chamber of Commerce - I don't want their vote and will boycott any forums put on by them.
The non resident electors. Outsiders can own more than 1 house and get more than 1 vote... Booo Bad
The Anti-PotHead crowd. It will take a mass extinction to change their minds. So why try.
They got rid of the HydroPlane races years back. I'll beg Miss Budwiser and her 200mph 3000HP friends to come back
I have plans to clean up our lake and not just blame the upstream towns... Penticton in particular

I'm not sure, but I think it is snow covered mountain. 🗻

Got 2 out of 123 where there is a possibility of more.
Tonight I'll look at the video these were part of... They are there...
-
@spectateswamp It's bug season where you are, too?
-
@the_quiet_one When trying to Shoot some bug pictures...
I was using a pair of Osprey as a foreground vista
The video slows down the picture taking to between 6 and 8 seconds..
So I never know what frame will be captured.. No Bugs but
The girl was being spunky.
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:
2 minutes means 20 or more looking hard for shit that whizzes by so fast it's impossible to see.
Maybe you should consider investing in a high speed camera, like a Chronos or a Phantom.
-

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "Sky Creatures" are going to be impossible to see with those as well.

That's a cool picture.

That probably depends on how much chemical sensory enhancement you've had while viewing them.

Shot 87 pics today..
From 2:00 to 3:30 the clouds were in the east and over the nearby mountains. Not moving much.. Perfect.
I try to shoot 10 pics then break the video and do 10 more.
Right off the bat I caught these two.
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:
Right off the bat
So you are admitting they might just be bats?
-
@the_quiet_one Nah, some sort of parasite that lives on the bat.
-
Dang just a bird.. Maybe today or tomorrow. But who's quitting.
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

Quelle surprise!
-
@hardwaregeek You don't know! It could have been leaves.
-
@boomzilla Sure. Birds, bugs, leaves, figments of Swampy's drug-addled delirium — any of these are possible, and more probable than "Sky Creatures."

@sockpuppet7 I'm going to invoke Betteridge's law here.

Hmmm...I may have to rethink my position on global warming.
-
Over 100 photos of fine clouds and 1 more object...
I watched the video and will upload that shortly... This is how you catch Sky Creatures folks...

At 30 seconds in SC shows up. Fast very fast...

I'm impressed.. What a lucky shot.
I looked at the other videos from that day. NOTHING.
When the swampies start to show their video catches... We'll need a new thread just for those.

It will be the Dirty Lake people..

With as much as he flaps his mouth here, surely he must catch a few when he's out filming.
-
@hardwaregeek said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:
That sounds messy. Or dizzying. But tasty.
Any relation to this guy?
-
@atazhaia I am not familiar with that character. I never read the comics, and apparently I didn't see any of the animated productions he was in.
-
They're real

-
Nobody shares Weird Knowledge better than this
A couple days back I was at my favorite spot... Without my camcorder..
If I had it, my eyes would have been on the sky not the LakeBut
Across the lake at about a mile or so.
What appeared was a strange wake / tide / or something
There were 2 wakes moving 1 then the other catching up.
Each would have been 50 feet long or so.
They / it moved along at a lea surly pace of 2 or 3 mph. (south to north)
For almost 3 minutes and covering a quarter mile or more close to the far shore before disappearing. It could have been a couple cloaked watercraft
or two Huge schools of fish moving along the surface
or two Large lake creatures.. Reports by early settlers talk of a sighting...
or ....
I think the latter and moved back from the lake just a little. So from now on when hunting Sky Creatures I'll keep an eye out for Lake Creatures.
Something BIG is out there.
I kept this a secret for a couple days.. Not wanting people to think I'm a nutbar...
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

A little late for that.

It was way worse when I was shooting the first Sky Creature videos. Skulking around in the back alley and yard. Looking up to the sky.. Now I go down by the lake. Nobody notices nutbars there...
-
Is this the sky creature we are looking for?
-
@atazhaia said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

No, it's either a bird, a plane or this
-
@spectateswamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

They probably just assume they're moose poop.
-
@scarlet_manuka said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:
@atazhaia How do you get that? Raw image should be 3-4 bytes per pixel, so 4GB would be around 1-1.3G pixels or 1000-1300 MP.
Still rather more than any camera I've heard of :)
-
@ben_lubar Somehow I don't think that's off a camera. You can make images any size you like, but camera sensors only go so far.
-
@scarlet_manuka said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

Please don't encourage him. Ben is already the king of posting huge images (usually without context).
-
@hardwaregeek Ben go video. way better.
I just searched for:
"google for education"
can't be that google are trying to do what SwampSearch is doing.
Would they have a Random option."Random" changes massive data archives, from a burden into a resource.
And excitement / electricity / mojo
-
@spectateswamp and just what is the point of that
-
-
@remi said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:
electricity
My computer's got plenty of that already.
