I'm curious as to what flavor it's supposed to have. Since my tastebuds are I'll never get to experience it.

No, because Ethnicity is separate from Race. You are one or more races and Hispanic or not.
Right, but you asked what the difference between w/h and b/h was. Since there's an /h there in both places, well, that only leaves the w and b as being different. :p
I'm say how can my daughter, husband, and MIL have the exact same racial/ethnicity make up when the amounts vary.
And if you are fully h ...where is the dividing line between w and b?

constantly having to cook everything without onions sucks.
My two younger children refuse to eat anything that contains onions. They also refuse to eat a bunch of other stuff (not the SAME other stuff, mind you). About a third of the time I wind up cooking them a different meal to what the rest of us are having. The rest of the time we just resign ourselves to the very limited palette of foods that everyone is willing to eat.
@asdf said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:
This is what actual black olives should look like:
Hmmm. Judging by those pictures, our local pizza chain switched from blackened olives to actual black olives (maybe; they don't really look like your second picture) some time ago. At that point, two of my kids became unwilling to eat the olives any more, where previously they had liked them. I myself preferred the older style but I still eat them. And now, everyone else's.
-
@Scarlet_Manuka said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:

I've done some more research yesterday, and apparently there are not only 2 kinds of olives (ripe/black and unripe/green), but more. Apparently, in addition to the different degrees of ripeness, there are also different curing processes for olives (using brine, lye or salt).
I actually don't know how the ones I like are cured, I'll try to find the different types and figure it out.
-
@asdf There are too many olives :)

@Karla said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:
All variety occurs because of defects. Most defects are non-viable. Occasionally we get some good ones.
Pale skin, and straight hair are defects because they were not in the original genome.Oversimplification. What usually matters is whether the right enzymes are being produced and in the right quantities. It turns out that a lot of genetic variation doesn't affect the produced proteins at all, or only in very minor ways (though these are less common). SNPs are typically harmless. CNVs are more interesting, as they can enable one copy of a gene to mutate to something else without making the organism non-viable. There is indeed an evolutionary filter that many places where a genome can change will just render the organism non-viable, yet it's a feature of how DNA works and encodes proteins that mutations tend not to occur in these ways. Genetics is far more complicated than it appears to be at first.
I work with genetic engineers.

I'll never understand why so many people dislike mushrooms. (And how can you even hate all kinds of mushrooms? There are so many different kinds and they all taste different!)
When I hear that someone dislikes mushrooms, I always assume it's because they were forced to eat those disgusting, slimy canned portobello mushrooms as a kid.
-
@asdf said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:

I don't hate all fungi. Just mushrooms (which come in various shapes and sizes but are the same thing anyway). Some other ones are great:

Also incomprehensible to me: "I hate all seafood. I don't like how it tastes." (Yes, that's a quote.) I mean, salmon, tuna, white fish, prawns and scallops taste absolutely nothing alike. They might as well be five different kinds of food from five completely different solar systems.

@asdf said in I hate Cilantro thread because why not?:
"I hate all seafood. I don't like how it tastes."
Probably someone who doesn't like the tastes common when seafood decomposes; those are quite distinct from what is usually associated with plants and land animals. OTOH, having the seafood when it's actually fresh is different. You pretty much have to be coastal for that though, or have a very good fishmonger.
