But then I'd have to deal with snow. Here in Florida I can duck from one air-conditioned interior region to another and rarely have to deal with the sunlight. There I'd have to shovel snow, scrape windows, etc. No thanks.
Oh, and I'm not nearly polite enough. And I'm not fond of poutine.

Agreed. Keep nuts out of brownies, cakes, and pies as well.
Nooooooo!! They're even better with nuts in them (unless you're allergic, in which case I pity you). Besides, how can you have a pecan pie without pecans?
I'm not even allergic and I like some nuts...just not in my breads, brownies, cakes, and pies.
I can do peanuts in candy bars or M&Ms.
Peanuts are not nuts
Then it isn't an exception.

I'm allergic to basically all green growing things and a lot of things that are

. I also burn in the sunlight. That's because the universe rejects my existence, like the soulless monster that I am.I have no food allergies but yes everything outside wants to kill me. Add to that, dust, roaches, and molds which are difficult to escape in NYC.
And as for the sun:
I wear practically a burkini to the beach.

Tried that. Wasn't great. I use the lactose free milk occasionally, but mostly just don't use dairy.
I'm not deathly allergic to nuts--they just make my mouth tingle and make my gut feel weird. Oh, and make my throat swell up a bit and makes me talk weird.

Repeated exposure could cause that to go into deathly allergic territory. You're already starting down the path there, based on your description of symptoms.

From what my doctor said, it actually won't. Because it's what's called a secondary allergy--I'm strongly allergic (respiratory, not anaphylactic) to things that are very close to the nut proteins--it's a self-limiting, non-life-threatening allergic response. It's annoying (and I avoid them because of that), but probably won't get worse. And since I'm on desensitization shots for the primary allergies, it should even get better over time.
When I had the testing, I showed HIGH reactions to all but one of the environmental allergens, but basically nothing to the food ones. The one mold I wasn't highly allergic to, I was moderately allergic to. Yeah, not fun.

It's a low-rise skirt.

@lb_ said in In other news today...:
@pjh so my sister is younger than both of the date cutoffs for millennials whereas I just barely count as one, but we both grew up together less than three years apart, does that make me more like her or her more like me or...? Why are there cutoffs anyway instead of fade transitions? Who made these rules about how to generalize groups of people based on their birth year?
Because they're simplistic social constructs designed to make intergenerational warfare easier by providing convenient names to label the "other" with. Also, advertising and marketing.

I don't even get the point of those graphics.
It would make sense maybe if, say, only male "Boomers" were in the workplace and no females or something. But since every generation has both men and women working, why do those icons exist?
EDIT: also by their definition of "millenial" I am one. Whee. I get to hang out with the cool kids.

Not only that, but it's clearly limiting the number of apparent genders.

As if doctors know what the fuck they're talking about. Seriously, your symptoms sound just like my wife's, except that they continue to the point where the swelling endangers her airway (depending on dosage). Fortunately, they tend to develop fairly slowly, so we have time to react.
She used to have very mild stuff, like the itching. Then, when she was in high school, on a trip to Germany, she ate some hazelnut ice cream believing it to be vanilla. That was the first time she had to be hospitalized and her reactions have been much more serious ever since.

Considering the customs of our great-great-grandmothers, that would make her underage.

A spokesman said the issue was not with the Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA) but with browser or device settings on some machines.
Design browser-based spelling test software. Don't prevent browsers from spellchecking. Don't tell schools to change browser settings away from default. Definitely a problem with the users' machines.
