In more recent news, the organic greengrocer on N. Sobertin St. is now taking Apple to court because he has prior art and trademarks over the concept of an "apple stand".

I chose the easier of the two.
I chose the third option: Download Red-Hat's ISO for free
Well, free minus the cost of give or take 30 hours of being online with 56k dialup and hoping there's enough error correction involved.

RE: Which language has the biggest…

(emphasis mine )
Now is it worse that Java is worse than the PoS that is NodeJS, or that the PoS that is NodeJS manages to be better than Java?
My under-caffeinated brain combined PoS and NodeJS to Node o'JS and then it tried to pronounce it and now no amount of coffee will bring back the innocence. But of course, pronouncing the language "jizz" may be entirely apt, since there's loads of wankers in web frontage. (And I hear they're going for backends now, too.)

RE: Mozilla Rebranding Or: How to Waste Several Hundred Thousand Dollars on Awful Graphic Designs
Myyyyyyyyeaaaaah, "so, we did our best to hide that stupid http://www everywhere in our multistrip to the point of breaking copy-paste interaction with it, so yeah, let's have
://
in our logo."But yeah, it is the least ugly of the bunch. Though the top right one has its own colon slash aspect, I guess.

RE: Git
You must create a repository and make some McGyver on it.
(I found this on StackOverflow, so it must be a valid solution. Unfortunately, the question has since been deleted, but I'm convinced it sums up the git experience.)

What part of that do they not understand?
https://i.imgur.com/8lCGl9r.pngThe part I don't understand is why people still write mm/dd — or dd/mm for that matter — when they could write a month's name abbreviation and remove ambiguity.
(even if you're tying yourself to a given language then, that's a battle already lost since you need to pick between mm/dd and dd/mm. You need to pick a locale anyway)
My campaign to allocate 12+31 Unicode codepoints is over --> there. Just scratch some round faces showing teeth fro the next emoji update. (Anybody ever notice how emojis discriminate against people with more elongated face? Clearly, they are designed by old fat white cis-het Americans who stuff themselfs with twinks all day, or whatever those foamcakes are called. Also, seriously lacking in modifiers for more natural shades of teeth color. )

RE: Let's make the URL bar super-short and teach people to ignore it, what could possibly go wrong?
@anonymous234 Yeah, only the most recent Chrome doesn't show "https" anymore, it now calls the page "Secure". I'm kind of wondering if you can get an EV certificate for an entity named "Insecure Page", hijinx ensue.
Anyway, my guess is that for security purposes, upcoming versions of FF and Chrome will not display the payload part of data URIs, so you only have literally "data:text/html,…" there.
Frankly, I have no idea why they don't currently display the title of the current document anyway, as they're already hiding the protocol and (at least some) a "www." prefix if present. -

You might have a problem if you put more than 64 bits worth of values in your table, but that's a Shit-Ton of Data anyway.
Guess who else thought "well, that's bigger than I'll ever realistically need".

Finally there is fully automated LetsEncrypt. There is absolutely no vaild excuse for this mistake -- we don't even need to know how and why they fucked up, but the heads should roll.
Well we know they don't check their LE mechanisms – some server or other went through several renewals which simply were never deployed to production last autumn (IIRC). End result: you simply didn't get addon updates, and the only way to find out was a singular line in the error console.

RE: Skype Call vs. Windows Update
Ah, but Skype is actually low-bandwidth. I'd not be surprised at all if BITS only backs off for high-bandwidth requests, i.e. when the 300k of minified gzipped gruntgulped JS tangle the fad framework of the day produces is downloaded, it will throw BITS into "oh, there's big downloads, better stop doing anything for ten minutes" mode.

So that means there was a developer who actually did that on purpose. Why, why, why?
because they thought it funny adding that easter egg to that model.
because they could?
I thought those kinds of easter eggs were limited to bad-dragon and primal hardware (NSFW!) and the like?
