Sequential Search if far far superior to googling.Got the cp option working where iuses the name in the description line as the output file.
SO
I can quickly make minor changes to those descriptions and have the new name as output... WOW double wowl
This is a game changer for Curators .... like Me that's why i finished it... after all this time.
Now I can get on with showing Sky Critters...
spectate cp desc only 26Mar2021.txt spectate cp desc only.exe spectate cp both.exeI''ve found that it is far simpler to keep many many hard coded versions of the program than trying to get a switch for this and that. Simple is good.. Because I'm stupid and determined.

Have you ever considered dispassionately comparing the quality of your product to the larger market?

Sometimes features shouldn't be implemented.
LIke the fast / furiously forward.
When the system had other jobs running it was almost impossible to check / test the feature.SO
Now I'll create a catalog file that has 1000 matching pairs (with notepad)That will play 1/1000 apart.
It is easy with text editors and I can change the 1*** to 2*** for any segment I want to examine.
Being able to pass this file around for others to use... Makes it far simpler . I like simpler.Watch out maybe the Swampies will beat Me to the tobacco leaf flyer showing.... I hope so.

@SpectateSwamp and you're not joking, you say.

Search Engine morphs into Show Engine
Waaay better than anything else.
fishstone2 fishstone1This monster fish had a head that was 8 feet long or more..
He could have gobbled up a T-Rex if it got too close to the shore.

Nobody Shoves Data around better than this
CP function and long filenames are the shove tools.A directory list of the music files and some swampie to code them up
as (french) or (english) that will be a big big helpAnd shove just the pics or music you want.
Spectating 'em as they move to the output folder

@HardwareGeek Being negative like that you just may get ordered to re-read the complete thread... or maybe a banning would be a lighter penalty.

Nobody shares crop circle knowledge worse than BIG Science. Nope
Obviously these are a hoax or science just doesn't want to know or look
Same with Marijuana cures and traditional Flu stuff.
Whatever they can't explain they turn a blind eye because they are paid to.
-
@SpectateSwamp what about the stuff they're not sure whether they're going to be able to explain - do they get paid either way?
-
@SpectateSwamp , keeper of the Search, I ask you to look upon @tania_v and guide them in the Ways.
-
@Gribnit Now all we need is to get all three of you in a room with @Jaloopa (I think?)'s Markov bot and you'll have a hell of a time
-
@sloosecannon Nope it was @anotherusername
-
@sloosecannon I made a half arsed attempt at a Markov bot at one point, without doing any research into how they're normally done. I did once spend a couple of hours attempting to get SSDS to compile in VB.net, so there's that

All the various Spectate related shenanigans kinda blur together at some point...

@HardwareGeek if you say so

@SpectateSwamp, any way to get an SSDS install to take advantage of multiple processors?
-
@Jaloopa You survived. I didn't say there wasn't lingering damage to your psyche.

Short short video clips are the next feature. HARDCODED of course
I plan on shooting very short clips from the same spot just to see the day to day changes.
I'll run the VL option to put that length in the name..
Then
when running and the app name has short... It will check the length against the internal time set by tt3 and if it is shorter than 3 seconds play it. otherwise skip.
Might be a good way to have a selected segment of the video to be the thumbnail.
It should be easy....
-
@Gribnit Probably by using the clipboard or parameter file or prog name
-
@SpectateSwamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

I mean like real time, so one instance is sending commands and data to others.
-
@Gribnit one can have a pause after each clipboard update
manual or random

-
@Gribnit wouldn't be too hard..
just put in a check to see if it has changed...
As well by taking out the LARGE internal arrays that aren't used for much other than the building of the catalog file list. Folders in folders
I could probably run a hundred versions or more by reducing that alone.

@Gribnit More than 1 app hammering the storage files like Spectate does wouldn't provide any real efficiency.. Or maybe not.
I can have the logic flow when a video is interrupted....
Check if the "left" "forward" "right" or "back" is set and use that element to search for the next link... A little work is needed.. not completely tested.

Some solid state devices could also have multiple parallel read channels .
-
@Gribnit You could use 1 version for each drive I guess...
-
@SpectateSwamp said in Nobody shares knowledge better than this:

Even the drives have more than one bit, tho. Usually you've either got more than one platter or a multichannel solid-state bus. So a bunch of versions could read stuff and send it to something that's displaying it. Maybe it even decides which to listen to.

Nothing shares Knowledge better than Short Short video clips
When you have important knowledge the message has to get through.
A short short video makes it easy.

Nobody shares better software than this
That nasty bug is almost completely removed
It just stops and doesn't hang the computer till I power it off.
I don't know what would happen if I left it go... BAD
The Idea of having multiple versions of Spectate is GREAT tooEvery day I make a change there is a new version of the app and exe
spectate 21May2021.exe
spectate 21May2021.txt
The scariest prog ever is back being good and great.
